CHAPTER 91: The Road to Reconciliation

The ride back to U.A. from the Todoroki residence starts out quietly. The low hum of the engine and the muffled rhythm of city traffic fill the silence. You sit between Izuku and Katsuki, who’s visibly irritable, knees pressed against the seat in front of him. Shoto is by the window, quiet, his face unreadable.

Endeavor, seated up front, finally breaks the quiet with an announcement. “Your internship schedule will intensify. Weekends, and now two additional school days.”

Izuku glances your way, lips curling into a thoughtful smile. “Y/N, would you help me with English? Finals are coming up fast.”

You smile, the shared tension melting slightly. “Only if you help me survive math.”

He grins, determination lighting up his expression. “Deal.”

Katsuki mutters under his breath, “Tch. This damn car’s built for ants.”

The driver, Untenmaru Kurumada, raises a brow in the rearview mirror. “Can’t believe the Number One Hero’s got students in my backseat. Guess miracles really do happen.”

Then—screeching tires. The car lurches.

The world outside erupts. Blinding white lines lash across the road, ripping into the pavement. Untenmaru swerves hard, barely missing a rising spike of concrete.

You see him first—Natsuo, suspended midair, bound in tight, glowing lines. His body jerks as the villain controlling them twitches his fingers like a conductor.

“Get down!” Endeavor roars, flinging the door open and leaping out, fire surging like a tidal wave.

The villain—Ending—steps into the chaos, pale eyes wild with obsession. “Enji Todoroki! I waited for you! You ruined my life, gave me hope, and snatched it away! Burn me—like you burned that Nomu!”

White lines explode outward, tearing streetlights from their bases and snapping through traffic. You barely have time to react before the car is rocked sideways.

“GO!” Izuku shouts, grabbing the gear Untenmaru tosses out and handing it to each of you.

You launch yourself out of the car, landing in a slide on slick pavement. Ending’s lines lash out—writhing, erratic. His madness is tangible.

“Separate!” Katsuki barks, already blasting forward with explosive force.

Izuku calls Blackwhip, slinging through the battlefield to save falling civilians from a tipped minivan. His eyes are focused, tracking ten things at once.

You pull water from a nearby hydrant, swirling it midair before freezing it into jagged spears to slice through the white bindings. “Shoto, go for Natsuo!”

“On it,” Shoto says, ice launching him forward.

But Ending anticipates this—he yanks Natsuo toward an oncoming train, one hand holding the rail lines hostage with a cruel grin.

“NO!” Shoto yells, launching a surge of fire that melts the rails just enough to slow the train.

You thrust both hands forward, freezing a wall of mist into a sharp, crystalline barrier that holds the tracks in place for a few precious seconds.

Katsuki detonates himself upward, catching Natsuo midair just as he’s about to be hit. “I got you, dumbass!”

Izuku flings Blackwhip to steady a collapsing support beam. “Y/N! The civilians!”

“I see them!” You unleash a wave of high-pressure water, diverting a flaming car away from a group of cowering bystanders, then drop into a slide and freeze the vehicle mid-spin, shattering it harmlessly into chunks.
