Hey long time no see, I recently got into Armored Core...
Ark Rep.: Hello Raven, we'd like you to explore the "Surface". Your AC has been outfitted with a special coating that'll protect it from the radiation contaminating most areas there. Your mission is to investigate recent attacks and activity detected near one of the Underground's important entrances.
We would give more data for you to prepare, but radar isn't as good up there. There will be a lot of unknown variables. That's why we'll have to rely on your skill alone for this particular operation. Find out what's causing concerning activity and get back to base, nothing else. Good luck.

The soft hum of the lift taking me to Surface fills my senses, while I try to calm the thoughts in my head on what to expect.
The surface... I'll be the first Raven up there.
Verrat: Raven? Do you copy? I can only accompany you so far into this mission. After awhile, expect communications to cease as you get further away from the Underground. Just be sure to come back.
Soon, the lift comes to a halt. The doors open, and I was greeted with a sight to behold.

Verrat: I expected this, but to see it for myself... It's sad to see.
I was silent the whole way, not because of nostalgia for humanity's fall but this place felt oddly familiar. As if I was here. I didn't let it deter me though. I've got a job to do after all.
Verrat: Raven, the most recent disturbance is just a few clicks from this entrance to the Underground. Head there now.
"Main System: Activating Combat Mode."
I boost through the ruined streets, fallen buildings and ones that still stand in place for the people that left it to decay. Along the way I even spot familiar MT wrecks and military vehicles. A great battle must have transpired here.
Along the way, I stop to look over an AC wreck. It was sliced open with a laser blade, but definitely not recent.
