📍The Bahamas
---
THE SUN SHONE BRIGHTLY IN THE SKY, and the waves lapped at the shore. Seagulls flew overhead, their wings flapping and their beaks opening as they let out a caw. It was a gorgeous day in the Bahamas, and Aaron was sitting on the beach, watching his 1-year-old daughter chase seagulls.
Scottie, who had initially been apprehensive about the birds, was now chasing after them, her little feet kicking up sand, and her arms waving. Her curly hair was blowing in the breeze, and she had a wide grin, dimples prominent, and teeth peeking out.
"Come on, Scottie, you can get 'em!"
Aaron looked over at his girlfriend, who was laying in the sand, her arms propping her head up, and her sunglasses shielding her eyes. The white bikini covered in navy blue flowers clung to her skin, and he could see the sweat on her body glistening in the sunlight.
The couple was currently on what they intended to be the first of many annual family trips to The Bahamas. The weather was perfect, the water was warm, and the sun was shining. But most importantly, it was their first vacation together as a family, and they were all having a great time.
"Yeah, come on, baby girl, catch that bird!"
He turned his attention back to Scottie and smiled, his chest filling with pride. She was a fast runner, and though she hadn't managed to catch a bird, she was doing really well.
"Bird! Bird!" she shouted, her arms waving, and her curly locks bouncing, "Dada, bird!"
"Yes, that's a bird," he told her, nodding his head and smiling.
Scottie grinned and tried to reach out and grab the bird, but she wasn't quite fast enough. The seagull let out a loud caw and flew away, causing the baby to squeal.
"Mama! Bird!"
"I see it, baby, I see it," Carmen assured her, her sunglasses slipping down her nose, and a wide smile on her face, "Try and catch it!"
Aaron turned his attention to his girlfriend and watched her for a moment. Her dark skin was covered in tan lines from where her bikini had been, and stretch marks adorned her stomach. She had always hated them, but Aaron loved them, and thought they were beautiful.
They were proof of the life she had created.
Aaron scooted over so he was closer to her and reached his hand out, gently touching her side. Her body tensed up and she turned her head to look at him, her brown eyes narrowing.
"What?"
"Nothing," he replied, his hand moving up her side, and his thumb rubbing her skin, "Just admiring the view."

Carmen rolled her eyes, but he could see the faint blush spreading across her cheeks. His gaze shifted to her mouth, and he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. She hummed and kissed him back, her hand cupping his face, and her fingers brushing the small amount of stubble he'd let grow over the off-season, the same stubble she'd been pestering him to shave for weeks.
She let him push her onto her back and move on top of her. His hands were resting on her waist, and her fingers were tangled in his curls. Their lips moved together, and he could feel her smile and a low moan escaped her mouth.
His grip on her waist tightened and his lips moved down to her neck, peppering her collarbone and the hollow of her throat with kisses. He sucked at the pulse point of her neck, his teeth scraping her skin.
"Aaron."
He thought the way she said his name was an encouragement, so he kept kissing her, his hands running up and down her sides. But she quickly pushed him away, her cheeks flushed, and her lips swollen.
"No, Aaron, look!" She pointed to their daughter, who was currently stumbling towards the shoreline, her arms flailing, and her brown eyes focused on the water.
"Oh shit!"
Aaron quickly pushed himself up and ran over to Scottie, scooping her into his arms before she could go into the water. He held her close, his heart racing as he let out a long sigh. Scottie didn't seem to notice her father's distress and instead focused her attention on his hair, her little hands tugging at the curls.
"Jesus, I think I had a heart attack," Aaron breathed, pressing a kiss to the top of Scottie's head, and hugging her tightly.
He looked back towards Carmen, who also looked relieved. She pulled her sunglasses off her face, her brown eyes sparkling in the sunlight, and her brow raised.
"She's a fast little thing, isn't she?"
"You can say that again," Aaron muttered, his gaze flickering between his daughter and his girlfriend. Scottie whined and reached her hands out towards the ocean, her little legs kicking, "I'm gonna take her in for a minute."
"Wait! Take the life vest!" Carmen told him, getting up and grabbing the baby-size life vest from the beach chair. She threw it at him, and he barely caught it due to what a bad throw it was, and a small laugh escaping his lips.
"Nice throw, baby!"
"Oh, shut up," she muttered, rolling her eyes and sitting back down on the beach chair, "It's a life vest, not a baseball."
Aaron smiled and strapped the life vest onto Scottie, making sure it was tight, but not too tight. When he was finished, he slowly made his way into the water, holding the baby close to him. She giggled and reached her little hands out, her brown eyes widening, and her dimples deepening.
"Yeah, that's the ocean, honey," he told her, pressing a kiss to her forehead, and holding her hand, his thumb brushing her tiny fingers, "Isn't it beautiful?"
"Yeah!"
He smiled and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. He let her splash around in the water for a while, always keeping a tight grip on her. The waves were calm, and the water wasn't too deep, but he didn't want to take any chances.
"Hey, Carm! Why don't you come join us?" he called, his gaze flickering back to the shore, and he saw her sit up, her brow furrowed.
"Nah, I'm good! I don't want to get my hair wet!" she called back, and he smirked. That only made him want to get her into the water more.
"Come on, get your ass in the water," he told her, and then turned his attention back to the baby, "Scottie, do you wanna see Mama?"
"Mama!" Scottie squealed, her chubby hands reaching out, and her eyes sparkling, "Mama come in wawa!"
