Vi and I returned back to the small haven, being offered food from a merchant just outside his tent. We accepted, taking one for each of us before making our way back to where Vander and Viktor would be. I grabbed a few for Whiskers as well, throwing them up in the air every now and then for the large rodent to catch and chew them. By this time, Viktor was probably going to take a break and give us time to be with Vander. Jinx and Isha were probably already there, so we went to meet up with them as well. I was halfway through the fruit in my hand when Vi slowed in front of me, making me bump into her back before stopping as well. Whiskers then bumped into my back, letting out a soft squeak as I huffed. I peered around Vi, looking to see what made her stop.

As soon as my eyes landed on the man walking out of the metal enclosure Vander was in, my head jerked to the side and I sucked in a quick breath as the fruit suddenly dropped out of my hands.

"I understand this must be painful."

I panted, shaking my head as the familiar male's voice rang through my mind.

          "It's about to get worse."

I let out a gasp, feeling my left eye start to throb at the memory of a needle pricking its surface. Remembering the Shimmer that pumped through my irises that caused them to turn the color they were today.

"Singed," I rasped out as Vi's eyes found my shaky ones. "Of course--I should've known he was behind this."

Vi looked back ahead, watching as Singed began to make his way through the camp. She let out a soft sigh, taking a bite of her fruit before nodding down at me.

"If he's here--there's trouble," she mumbled, beginning to follow after him. I nodded, stealing a glance down at Whiskers as the mouse snarled in Singed's direction.

"Stay with Vander," I whispered to her, planting a hand on the innermost metal piece on her forehead. "Keep him out of trouble."

She hesitated slightly before nodding, and I nodded back at her before Whiskers crept away.

I followed after Vi, staying close to her side as we strolled a good distance behind the mad scientist. Not getting too close to alert him of our presence, but not too far where we could lose him. He walked out through the metal archway, turning to walk through a series of tunnels that surrounded the area caused by the canyons. We peered around the side, Vi taking another bite of her fruit before marching forward once more.

My eyes caught sight of the spear that was lodged into the ground just a few feet away from where we were now, feeling the tingle ride up my spine. My eyes widened as I recognized it from the Noxian army. Which meant Ambessa was here... as well as Caitlyn. Great.

Vi dropped the leftover fruit in her hand, nodding down at me before we pushed forward. As we walked, I pulled the Hextech gem that was still hidden in my pocket before pressing it back into its socket in my arm. Immediately it began to glow, lighting up my arm and making it go stiff. I curled my fingers, opening and closing them against my palm as we walked and followed Singed. With my focus on my arm, I didn't realize that I had fallen a little behind from Vi. I was beginning to take the sling off when she rounded a corner, and my ears picked up the sound of sliding. My eyes snapped upwards, watching as a figure slid down the stone walls and hammered into Vi's side. Hitting the butt of her gun into Vi's gut, chest, and then face before throwing her over her shoulder to the ground.

I let out a scoff, rolling my eyes as I threw the sling to the ground. Caitlyn panted, her eyes widening down at Vi as she also recognized her.

"On the job, I see," Vi snarled.

"Not very well," I snorted, crossing my arms over my chest as Caitlyn's eyes sprang up to me. "If we were anyone else, I could've killed her already. You know--because you didn't even see me."

"You can't be here," Caitlyn growled, looking between Vi and me.

"Oh. Here, like where I landed when this rich, unhinged mongoose just tackled me?" Vi snapped back, shoving Caitlyn off her in order to sit up.

"Mongoose?" Caitlyn repeated as I reached forward, offering my hand down to Vi. She smacked her own into it, allowing me to pull her back to her feet. "Your hair. You look like an angry oil slick."

"Don't sugarcoat it," Vi sighed, dusting her pants off as I stared down at Caitlyn.

"Besides--I like the look. Makes her look hot," I huffed out, earning a little smirk from Vi.

Caitlyn sighed, picking herself up along with her gun before glancing back ahead.

"The routes in and out of this canyon are being monitored. No one can come in or out without being questioned," I heard a male's voice echo from ahead. Making my brows furrow as Caitlyn took a few steps forward to peer out.

"Who's out there?" I asked as Vi and I moved at the same time to look out.

Caitlyn held her arm out to us, making me glare over at her as she let out a sigh. "We tracked some sort of new chemweapon down here. A bloodthirsty murderous beast."

          Vander. They're going after Vander.

          "What are you doing here?"

"Trying to save... our dad," Vi answered, stealing a glance over at me. I nodded, eyes casting over to Caitlyn as she looked between us with furrowed brows.
