My name is Blare Sanchez. I should be happy, but I'm not. The world is...dying. I can't imagine it, the world getting better. It all seems impossible. Being happy effortlessly, the world less crappy. Impossible.
"Umm Blare? Earth to Blare!" Kacey Davis, my best friend, says tapping me on the shoulder. "Dude you really spaced out," she laughs, grinning. "Oh, sorry Kace." I say frowning.
"So... what were you thinkin' about?" Kace asks nonchalantly. Oh god, what do I say? Just some stuff about how the world is crap and how I'm depressed? NOPE. "Oh you know, my essay." She looks at me, squinting. "Okay. So are you coming to the party this Saturday?" Ugh not another party thrown by some random guy. "Do I have to?" I whine, "C'mon Kacey, you KNOW I hate parties!"
"No YOU c'mon Blare! I need someone to go with! I haven't gone to a party since me and Lola broke up." she argues. Lola is Kacey's ex girlfriend. Kace had been pretty upset when the broke up, I'm fairly sure Kacey loved her. "ugh fiiiine! I'm gonna regret this." "AHHHHH THANK YOU!! you're the best!" I really am going to regret this.
