Everyone gathered around the tree of souls, watching Länaia, carry my daughter to me. The bonding ritual began, a celebration of life and of Stars first connection to the great mother. But my soul knew something was missing, so I gently took Star from my mate. Her eyes, usually sparkling with affection, held a flicker of hurt, a silent accusation hanging in the space between us. Ignoring the tightening in my chest, I turned, scanning the crowd until I seen Oa're.

With a silent understanding, the crowd parted, giving me a clear path to Oa're. She held my gaze, paying no attention to the sacred seeds that floated around her like miniature stars.

Once I was in front of her I whispered, "You are her mother" my voice was barely audible above the hushed murmurs from the people. "I need you by my side"

Oa're nodded, allowing the swirling seeds to settle on her skin. With a grin I turned, spotting Länaia shaking her head, pain etched into her features.

Back at the Tree, I handed Star to Oa're, my heart aching. Then, I wrapped an arm around her, guiding us to my grandmother. The smile on her aged face was a blessing, a quiet comfort. With a delicate touch, she connected our child's queue to the tree.

"Fì'u 'eveng a mip tirengop zene kame the Na'vi her soaia fyel fì'u sätare eywa" My grandmother began to pray, sealing Stars connection to our ancestors.

I looked down at Oa're. Silent tears streamed down her face, a mixture of joy and pride mirroring my own. My own began to fall as I watched our daughter babble and snuggle into Oa'res warmth.

Everyone began to link hands, forming a protective web around us. Oa're gently handed Star to me. I held her close, peering down into her golden eyes before lifting her high. I shouted her name, "Tahnì!"

The clan responded, their voices a powerful wave of acceptance. "Tahnì!" a chill ran down my spine as the humans from the lab shouted her name as well, "Star!"

After pressing a kiss to Stars forehead, I handed her to her mother. "A few years ago..." I began speaking, my voice stronger than I expected. "The moon asked me why I was staring at it so much" I started, my gaze sweeping over the assembled clan.
