I woke up this morning, feeling a bit groggy. I reached for my phone and saw that Tess was still on call with me. She was fast asleep, her face scrunched up in a cute expression.
I couldn't help but laugh at the sight. I decided to scream at the phone to wake her up. "TESS, WAKE UP!" I yelled, but she didn't even flinch.
I chuckled and shook my head. I guess she was really out cold. I decided to just cut the call and let her sleep.
I brushed my teeth, showered, and changed into a black turtleneck, cherry red flannel, and black wide-leg jeans. I added my leather jacket and Converse shoes to complete the outfit.
I put my phone in my pocket and reached for my car keys. I walked out of my room and opened Tate's door while he was still combing his hair.
"Time to go, sleepyhead!" I said, grinning mischievously.
Tate groaned and tried to swat at me, but I was too quick. I dragged him by his hair, laughing as he yelped in protest.
We walked downstairs, and I gave Grandma a hug. She smiled and fed me a spoonful of yogurt and sugar before I left.
Tate groaned as he rubbed his head. "You're going to pay for that," he said, his eyes narrowing.
I just grinned and rolled my eyes. "Oh, I'm so fucking scared."
We got in the car, and Tate pushed my head down on the steering wheel as revenge. I just deadpanned him and rolled my eyes.
"That's really mature, Tate," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
Tate chuckled and let go of my head. "Hey, someone's has to keep your pyscho ass in check."
I shook my head, laughing. "You're not doing a very good job, then."
Tate grinned. "Hey, I'm trying my best."
We drove to school, chatting and joking around. It was just another typical morning.

I drove to school, feeling pretty stoked that I was early and there was no traffic. We pulled into the parking lot, and Tate turned to me with a serious expression.
"Hey, don't get into any trouble today, okay?" he said, his eyes locked on mine.
I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "Duh, Tate. I'm not a trouble magnet."
Tate grinned. "You're not, but you can be a bit of a wild card sometimes."
I chuckled. "Hey, that's not fair. I'm a perfectly normal and well-behaved student."
Tate raised an eyebrow. "Save it, sis. I know you too well."
I playfully rolled my eyes and we said our goodbyes. Tate pushed me playfully as I walked away, and I stumbled forward, laughing.
As I walked towards the school entrance, I felt a huge weight on my back, and arms wrapped around my neck. I let out an "oof" noise as I stumbled forward.
"Hi," a voice whispered in my ear.
I turned to see Tess grinning at me, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Tess, what the heck?" I exclaimed, laughing as I held her legs around me tight.
Tess giggled and squealed as I ran through the halls, pushing people left and right. We caught up with Jeremy, who was standing by his locker.
"What's going on?" he asked, eyeing Tess's legs wrapped around me.
"Tess just attacked me," I said, grinning.
