A daminette Fanfic

Lukas Pov -

     Once I was sure she was asleep I carefully laid her on the bed.  I feel bad for what I did but I had no choice...Tikki and Kalki said she hadn't slept much in the past three weeks and I couldn't let her collapse from exhaustion.  I pulled out my phone and sent Chloe a message

     L-Marinettes cot. Now.

     C - Ill be their soon.

     I put my phone down and as if on cue Chloe came into the cot.  She looked at Marinette then the empty syringe on the TV stand.  I could tell she was absolutely pissed.

     "You sedated her?!" She whisper yelled

     "Chloe I had to." I said

     "Like hell you had too."  She said

     "Listen.  Kalki had woken me up...Marinette was still up working in her sketchbook.  She didn't notice I was awake and Tikki said that she has gotten less than 6 hours in the past three weeks"  I said and her eyes widened.

     "That's impossible...she got at least five hours last night...and an hour on the way to the airport...you mean that last night was the first time that she slept since three weeks ago?" Chloe asked with a questioning expression

     "It's true Chloe." Tikki butted in, Startling me slightly as I forgot she was here.

     "How did I not notice..." Chloe asked herself

     "No...Dont do that to yourself Chloe..."  I started

     "Don't give me that crap...I am her best friend...Im supposed to notice these things...shes supposed to feel safe enough to talk to me.  I was the first one to know what Adrien did...I was the first to know her parents were fighting.  I was the first to find out she was cutting herself - " Chloe froze when she realized what she said

     I froze, a thousand thoughts filled my head.  I knew Marinette was struggling but I had no idea she was cutting.

     "Luka...you cant tell anyone that...She made me swear I wouldn't say anything." Chloe pleaded

     "Why?"  this one word was the only thing that I had trusted myself to say without my voice breaking

     "Because she doesn't want anyone to see her as weak...I found her in her room at my house...bleeding out on her wooden floor...I helped her bandage her arms and clean up the blood.  I even got a new rug for her to cover up the stains.  She made me promise not to say anything and fell asleep crying in my arms.  That was the first time I realized how bad things really have been getting.  The nightmares...the fighting...the bullying. it all lead up to that one moment."  Chloe said

     "I wont say anything...but we should make sure she isnt...you know..." I said not even being able to say the word.

     Chloe took in a sharp breath and with Shaky hands slowly lifted her sleeves.  I was right...I love being right but right now I wanted nothing more than to be wrong.  Fresh red lines littered her porcelain skin.  Chloe started crying and I brought her close to my chest.  Once I calmed her down we silently cleaned and bandaged Marinettes wounds before we pulled her sleeves back down.  minutes felt like hours as we sat in silence, just watching over the blue haired angel praying that shell be ok.   Soon everyone woke up and everyone came to Mari's cot, Tikki hid the empty syringe and Pollen used her power to fix Chloe's makeup.

     "Is Mari - hime still sleeping?" Kagomi asked

     "Yeah...she seemed really tired so its probably better to just let her sleep." I said. 

     We all sat at the end of Marinettes bed and I put on a movie in the background.  We all just scrolled through our phones, Chloe and I exchanging secret glances at each other and at the sleeping girl on the bed.  I reached over and carefully pulled the blanket up over her and tucked a piece of her hair out of her face.  I still remember the day I met her.

Flashback

     It was my first day at a new school here in Paris.  My dad...Jagged Stone had finally agreed to let me have some normalcy and gave me his boat to stay on at a nearby harbor.  I was looking for my first class when I saw a girl with beautiful blue eyes struggling to carry a stack of books in her hand.

     "Need some help?" I asked and I guess I startled her because she had dropped all of the books she was holding onto. 

     I picked up half of the books and she took the other half.

     "I'm Marinette...You new here? I haven't seen you around..." She asked...her voice calm yet elegant, like the melody to a song.

     "yea...I'm Luka I was actually looking for my  class, room 2134." I said, a slight blush creeping up my neck.

     "Oh, My class is actually right next to that one...come on Ill show you the way."  She said and started walking towards the class

     Once we arrived at her class I carefully stacked her books on top of the ones she was holding.

     "Thank you so much Luka, your class is the next door over."  She said and I waved bye.  Once she was out of earshot I whispered gently

     "I'll see you later...melody" I said and walked to my class. 

Flashback Over

      From that day on we started getting closer...She's like my little sister and I swore no matter what I would always protect her...a promise I feel like I had not upheld, the scars on her arms are a constant reminder of that...I guess there's nothing I can do now but help her feel better.  Everyone went back to their cots to relax for a little longer and Chloe and I stayed with Marinette...Now all we can do is wait
