~Everyone🚨 I'm giving Y/N a name cuz honestly I'm tired to write that Y/N thing again and again. I'll name it Yuri so yeah 👍🏻😺~
A week had passed in the blink of an eye, and Yuri seemed to have settled into the house well. Her excitement for her parents' marriage was apparent. Of course, she was thrilled—her mother was happy, and her mother’s smile was back, just like before.
It was a usual morning when Yuri got ready for university. She walked downstairs to find the family gathered around the table, eating breakfast. Her mother was smiling, chatting with her father, while the ever-distant figure—Jungkook—sat at the table, quietly eating, his usual cold aura filling the space.
"Good morning, everyone," Yuri greeted, her voice cheerful as she joined them.
Her mother gave her a warm smile, and her father nodded in acknowledgment, continuing his conversation. But Yuri's eyes lingered on Jungkook for a moment. She gave him a quick glance but didn’t try to engage. She knew better than to expect a friendly response from him. She sat down in the empty chair next to him but kept a slight distance, trying to focus on her breakfast.
The room was filled with the usual clatter of utensils and the low hum of casual conversation when suddenly, her father turned to Jungkook.
"Jungkook, can you give Jiah a ride to school today?" he asked casually, almost as if it were the most normal request in the world.
Yuri blinked, her spoon halfway to her mouth. She had been expecting anything but that. She didn’t know why, but the thought of being in a car with Jungkook made her nervous, a fluttering feeling in her stomach that she quickly tried to suppress.
Jungkook, however, didn’t even look up from his plate. He simply nodded in acknowledgment, his face still as impassive as always. "Sure," he muttered, his voice low and indifferent.
Yuri hesitated for a second, but there was no way she could say no without causing any tension. It wasn’t like she had a choice, so she nodded quickly.
“Thanks, I guess,” she said, a little awkwardly, but he didn’t respond. He never did.
After a few minutes, both of them were in his car, the silence in the vehicle only adding to the tension that seemed to have taken over. Jungkook was driving, his eyes focused on the road, while Yuri sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window.
She tried to make small talk, knowing that silence wasn’t going to make the ride any easier. “So, how’s everything going?” she asked, her voice a little too chipper for the situation.
Jungkook glanced at her briefly, but it wasn’t enough for her to catch the look in his eyes before he turned back to the road. “Fine,” he answered flatly.
She let out a soft sigh, turning her gaze back to the passing scenery. The tension between them felt suffocating, but she didn’t want to make it worse by trying too hard.
"Okay," she mumbled to herself, trying to ease the awkwardness, but there was no way to shake off the quiet unease hanging between them.
It felt like forever before they reached the university. As Jungkook slowed the car to a stop in front of the main building, Yuri turned to him.
“Thanks for the ride,” she said, almost apologetically, as if trying to ease the coldness that had settled in the air.
He didn’t look at her as he nodded, simply replying, “No problem.”
Yuri stepped out of the car, her heart still racing, and closed the door behind her. She didn’t know what to make of the ride, the awkwardness, or the strange feeling that had settled in her chest.
