Blanket Fort Adventures

Karl was rummaging through the linen closet, his arms piled high with every blanket and pillow he could find. Sapnap leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed and a bemused grin on his face.

"You realize we don't need all of those, right?" Sapnap asked, watching as one particularly heavy quilt nearly toppled Karl over.

"We absolutely do!" Karl shot back, his voice brimming with excitement. "If we're gonna make the best blanket fort ever, we can't half-commit. This is serious business, Sapnap."

Sapnap chuckled and grabbed a few blankets to lighten Karl's load. "Alright, alright, lead the way, Fort Commander."

Minutes later, the living room was a chaos of fabric and cushions. Karl had already claimed a spot under the half-built fort, arranging fairy lights he'd found in a drawer.

"Okay," Karl said, peeking his head out. "I need you to hold the ceiling while I secure it with these... um... chip clips."

Sapnap raised an eyebrow. "Chip clips? Really?"

"They're versatile!" Karl insisted, throwing a clip at him with a laugh.

Despite the questionable tools, the two of them managed to finish the fort. It was cozy, lit with a soft golden glow from the fairy lights, and stuffed with every pillow they owned. Karl flopped down on the makeshift bed of cushions and patted the spot beside him.

Sapnap joined him, lying on his back and staring up at the "ceiling" of the fort. "You know," he said, his voice softer now, "this is actually pretty cool. You always have the best ideas."

Karl grinned, rolling onto his side to look at Sapnap. "Of course I do. That's why you keep me around, right?"

Sapnap turned to face him, a teasing smile on his lips. "Nah, I keep you around because you're cute."

Karl's face turned a little pink, but he recovered quickly, tossing a pillow at Sapnap's face. "You're such a sap!"

"And you love it," Sapnap replied, laughing as he pulled Karl closer. They stayed like that, wrapped up in the warmth of the fort and each other, talking until they both fell asleep.
