Mom's been walking around
the shop, trying to look for
a uniform that will fit me.

“Mom, I don't need 5 of these
uniforms,” I groaned as she
made me stand up straight
with both of my arms raised.

I saw myself at the mirror and
I have never wanted to face
palm myself so badly. I looked
so stupid T-Posing.

“Oh, shut up, Raiko!” she said,
slapping my arm because I
dropped it back on my side.

I pursed my lip, looking around
the shop. There were rows and
rows of this blue uniform. The
uniform for boys were a white
button-up shirt and blue slacks.
The shirt had a pocket and there
was the school's logo embroidered
on it.

The uniform for girls were blue
skirts and a white blouse. There
was a blue vest that I think we
have to wear based on what I've
seen the students from TIS wear.

As my eyes wandered around the
room, my eyes landed on the
window near us. My eyebrows
furrowed and I just had to bring
my arm near my face to massage
my temple.

There he was. The blonde,
infuriating of a flirt named
Rui Shen.

He had an annoying shit eating
grin plastered on his lips and
he seemed like he was chuckling
to himself as he watched us
through the window.

“Raiko! Keep your arms up!”
she yelled at me, slapping
my arm up once again.

I whined and saw that prick
laughing as he watched the
scenario unfold. I couldn't
help myself and rolled my eyes.

“Did you just roll your eyes at
me, Raiko Fukutomi?” she asked,
an eyebrow cocked up. I quickly
shook my head, already scared
for my life as she called me by my
full government name.

Mom then pinched my side which
made me yelp as I held my side.

I frowned at her, “I wasn't rolling
my eyes at you! I was rolling my
eyes at him–”

I pointed outside and saw that
he wasn't there anymore. Our
heads turned towards the door
when it suddenly opened.

There he is.

I held on my temple as my
head started aching again.
I blame it all on him!

“Hello, good morning to you
two! The principal sent me to
assist you,” he smiled at my Mom
before turning to me, the same
shit eating grin plastered on his
face as he held his hand out for
my Mom to shake.

Mom shook his hand and he
turned to me, his hand out
for me to shake.

I looked over at Mom and she
pinched me on my side. She
glared at me and made me
shake this blonde brat's hand.

“Raiko Fukutomi, be nice.”

I couldn't take my hand off his
because Mom held it place.

Once I was able to take my hand
away, I saw the same calling card
that he handed me last night at
the convenience store.

I raised my brow at him and
pocketed the stupid calling
card. This could be a great fire
starter or something.

This blonde bastard smiled
and turned to my Mom once
he saw me pocket the calling
card.

“I'm Ricky Shen, you can also
call me Rui. I'm the Student
Council President and I am
also Raiko's classmate. She's
in Year 12 as well, right?”

Mom nodded, smiling at this
thing in front of her.

“Well, we have her measurements
here and we need help with
looking for uniforms for her.”

He nodded, grabbing the paper
where my Mom wrote the
measurements she took of me.

He turned around and rummaged
through the hangers and the wide
selection of uniforms for girls and
pulled out a hanger with a uniform
on it.

“Here, try this,” he said, handing
me the uniform. I rolled my eyes
and pulled it out of his grasp and
stormed off to go inside the
changing room.

I couldn't be bothered to
remove my clothes so I just
put the uniform over my
clothes. I looked at myself
on the mirror. It was a great
fit.

I came out of the changing room
and walked towards the prick
and my mother. They were chatting.

“Mom,” I called out.

She turned to me and a wide
smile appeared on her lips.

“Oh, Raiko, it's a perfect fit! You
look great in their uniform.”

I frowned at her enthusiasm,
“Can I take it off now?”

“Not yet, what do you think,
Ricky?” she asked, turning
to the bastard who's been
looking at me from head to
toe.

His eyes landed on mine and
he gave me yet another shit
eating grin, “Perfect.”

Mom smiled at his reply and
grabbed her phone. I raised
my brow at her but I quickly
closed my eyes when I was
temporarily blinded by her
camera flash.

“I'll request for the school to
look for more of this size and
also look for a P.E uniform in
this exact measurements.”

Mom smiled at hid her phone
again, “Thank you, Ricky.”

Mom left me with this Ricky
guy since she was going to go
pay for my tuition and my books
and all that fancy stuff and since
Ricky volunteered to tour me
around the campus.

I had my arms around my chest
as I dragged my feet, following his
long strides.

“I didn't know you'd be enrolling
here,” he said, looking back at me.

Again with that stupid grin.

“So, I guess your name is Raiko
Fukutomi,” he said, making my
eyebrow raise at him.

I stopped at my tracks, “How
did you know?” I asked.

He stopped walking and faced
me, “Your mom said your name
earlier, did you forget?” he replied,
mimicking how I raised my brow
at him before turning around to
walk again.

I rolled my eyes, following him
nonetheless.

“Are you related to Aster Fukutomi
then?” he suddenly asked.

“Yes, why?” I asked as I caught
up to his long strides.

The blonde brat chuckled and
turned his head towards my
direction, “You two do not look
a like.”

I scoffed, “And why does that
bother you?”

He rolled his eyes at me and
opened the door to the building
that we stopped in front of.

“This is the library, you need a
library card if you want to hang
out in here,” he said.

I could only nod at whatever
he was saying as my eyes
wandered around the library.
Their library was huge and
there was quite the selection
of books that they had. I could
even eye a full set of the Wizard
of Oz books in one of their shelves!

My train of thoughts was disturbed
when Ricky suddenly handed me a
card. I raised my brow at him and
looked at it.

Library Card

for

Student Name : Fukutomi, Raiko
Year Level : Y12

“Uh, thanks..” I said, pocketing
the card like what I did with his
calling card.

He gave me that signature shit
eating grin and leaned closer
to me. I grimaced when I
smelled cigarette on him,
making me move away.

“That's not for free, those things
cost quite a fortune,” he said.

I scoffed, “I never told you to
get me one?” I said, grabbing the
card so I could give it back to him.

He immediately stopped my hand
and stared at me before speaking,
“Don't care, plus those are now you have to do
me a favor.”

I sighed, giving up as I pulled
my hand off his. “What do you
want then?”

Ricky leaned back and grabbed
his phone. He tapped on it for
a while and he showed me his
screen.

“What's your Instagram?”

I drove the three of us back home
after we've settled everything at
school. Mom got 3 sets of uniform
and one P.E uniform for me which
costed quite the amount.

I carried the paper bag filled
with my uniform and set it
down my bed as I collapsed
on it. I let out a sigh. Today was
very tiring.

I closed my eyes for a minute,
thinking about Aster's friend
and her bizarre death and how
I haven't sensed anything weird
yet.

Ding! I was so immersed in
thinking that I was startled when
my phone suddenly buzzed.

I grumbled, grabbing my phone
and unlocking it. My eyebrow
cocked as I read the notification.
