"for fuck's sake, tam, we're gonna miss our flight!" linh yelled.
"one second. i'm almost done," they said, rolling their eyes. they were fixing their hair. of course.
they ran out of the bathroom and hurried to their gate.
"you get the window seat," tam told her as they boarded the plane.
linh pumped her fist in the air. "let's go!" after they found their seats, linh wiggled her eyebrows at them. "first class?"
tam shrugged. "i used mom's credit card for the flights. and grandma's daigaku fund for the university fees."
"well, we used it for what we were supposed to. it's a pretty good school, so she'd probably approve if she were still alive."
tam hummed. "yeah, true. she probably wouldn't have approved our little announcement, though."
linh sighed happily. "that was amazing. who knew it would feel so good to flip your parents off?"
"i'm so proud of you," tam said, pantomiming wiping tears from their eyes. "we should make a photo album called 'linh's first american curses,'" they suggested.
"i do love my american swear words," she said. "but i have blaze to thank for teaching me them."
"we'll feature her in the photo album."
