The next day...

It was 14:24pm.

Michael put on his shirt and jacket and left his house. He was still disturbed by the events of yesterday.

Apart from that,

He had a dream where he was marrying that mysterious blonde girl in a place like a church.

-

It was a beautiful day outside. Melanie was in a park, she had finished painting a picture of a beach for a woman and gave it to her. The woman opened her bag and gave her 10$. A family of four came to her and told her if she could paint a landscape for them. She accepted it and started. After some minutes she finished it. They were looking at her impressed.

There were 2 other people waiting for their painting to dry on a bench.

With the tips she had been making she was able to buy art materials to make more paintings and more importantly, she would use it to buy things for herself, food and things for her hygiene.

Except that she didn't have a house yet.

She had been doing this for 2 days now and she thanked God that there were not many people observing her or in the line waiting for her drawings, because that would make her nervous.

She was someone who didn't mind people looking at her, but she sometimes felt uncomfortable when the crowd was big and especially if she was the center of attention.

-

Michael had parked his car in an available place he saw by the side of a park. He came down from it. He looked at his sides, then suddenly his gaze landed on a park and he saw a group of 4 people observing something, more likely, at someone. By their side far away he saw 2 individuals, one sitting and one standing. They both had a painting with them. Then he looked at the person that had got the attention of the people.

He saw a blonde girl painting a picture.

He furrowed his eyebrows immediately. He felt a bit of annoyance out of nowhere.

That girl looked like the one he had been seeing in his dreams, except that her face was unknown...

He closed his car, locked it and decided to go and check out.

-

The 2 individuals thanked Melanie for their painting, she welcomed them and they left the place.

Melanie had finished painting the landscape for the family and she gave it to them. They gave her the money, thanked her and she welcomed them blushing.

Michael approached them and dodged them as they went out of the scene.

Melanie was left alone as she was about to take another sheet from her drawing notebook, then she looked at the man that had approached her and became almost awe.

He was a tall brown-skinned man with an intimidating appearance.

She turned around and faced him.

—H-hi!— she hesitated blushing.

She noticed that he was also attractive in some way.

Then suddenly he glared at her. His face had a cold look.

Melanie saw his gaze and hesitated, her heart began to beat in her chest. After some seconds, the man sat on the decorative rock that was at his front. Melanie glanced at him nervously and turned around to start a painting. She could feel her hand trembling slightly of the awareness of the man's presence at her back.

«God save me...»

She glanced at him from the strand of her hair and saw that he was still staring at her. She became flustered.

After a few seconds, she turned around a bit and broke the silence:

—Do you w-want me to paint s-something-...?— Melanie shuddered forcing a smile to show kindness.

—What are you doing here?— he interrupted tartly.

—M-me...?— Melanie paused.—I was just p-painting...

He scanned her belongings with his eyes and looked at her once again.

Melanie felt fear. She placed her palms on her heart as she felt how anxiety had begun to rise on her body. She tried not to look at his eyes.

—S-sir do I know yo-?

—Don't speak when I'm speaking!— he commanded.

Melanie flinched and held her arm. She felt tears begin to fill her eyes. She felt trapped.

«Wait... is he an officer...? Did I do something wrong? Oh no, I'm trapped...»

—What is your name?— he continued.

...

«No. He asked for my name... Should I lie? No. I can't lie. God wouldn't be happy with me. Giving him my name shouldn't be dangerous... Right...?»

—M-Melanie...— she answered.

—Melanie...— he repeated almost whispering.

«Wait what if he is a sociopath or a psychopath or even a rapist...?»

Melanie grasped her dress with her hand on her chest. She started:

—Sir, I'm s-sorry if I did something wrong, p-please, I will not do it again, I promise- — Melanie worried.

—Who said you did something wrong...?— he interjected.

Melanie looked at him. She looked away quickly and lowered her head flustered.

Suddenly, the phone in his pocket rang. He looked at it and took it from his pocket. He stood up and Melanie shivered a bit. She felt her eyes filling with tears more and rolling down her cheeks. He walked far away, answering the call and turned his back at her.

Melanie glanced at him and began to pack her things immediately.

After she had packed them up, she walked out of the place quickly.

-

—Yeah, yeah. Okay. Bye.— Michael said.

He ended the call.

He turned around and looked at the place she was sitting and startled.

She had disappeared.

Michael put his cell phone in his pocket while approaching the scene and looked around.

«Where did she-»

-

Melanie had run away and hid on a corner, glancing at him. She saw that he was still there and she ran away.

After a few minutes of running she stopped at a street. She tried to gain herself and she saw a mini market. She remembered that she also had to buy food to eat.

«I need to get out of here as soon as possible...» she thought.

He looked at her back and went inside the shop.

When she finished she came out and looked at her sides and walked away.

...

-

The hours passed and the evening came.

Michael was in his apartment when one of his friends called him. He grabbed the phone from the table and answered.

«Heyyy, ma boy, what's up?» his friend said which made Michael grin.

—I'm fine, I'm fine, and you?— Michael responded.

«I'm good. Wanna join us tonight to party?» he asked him.

He thought about it. It was very long since he went to a club. The last time he went was when he was single, but when he started dating Alexa he stopped. Because...

What was the point?

He was a one-centered man.

But now Alexa was no more in his life, so he thought that it might be a fun idea even though going to places like that was not favorable, at all.

—Yeah, yeah, count me-

Then suddenly he felt something in his spirit which made him stop. He cautioned.

«Don't.» a voice whispered in his head.

Then one of the dreams he had with the mysterious girl appeared on his mind.

«Homie...?» his friend said.

He thought about it. He felt frustrated since this was also invading his fun times. He clenched his cheekbone.

—I'm out.

«Wait. You out?» he said.

—Yeah. Just go without me.

«Okay my boy. See you next time.»

—Yeah, bye.

«Bye.»

He ended the call. His gaze adopted a serious expression.

...

-

The night was on. Michael was in his bedroom sleeping when he had a recurring dream with that mysterious blonde girl.

-

In the dream...

The atmosphere was warm and ethereal. Michael was about to put the ring on the finger of that girl when her face was revealed...

She was blushing while smiling and giggling warmly...

*End of the dream

-

Michael gasped and woke up immediately. He sat up. His breathing was quickened and he was almost sweating. The moon was casting a bright glow on him and on his bed. He looked at his two palms immediately. They were slightly shaking. Then he lifted his head and realized.

That girl he saw in that park was the one he had been seeing in his dreams and symbolized something important and valuable in his life...

Which he dismissed and lost... Probably forever...

—What...?— he whispered as his eyes were widening.

But then he thought that the girl was probably very young for him so it seemed like something impossible or a mistake. At least that is what he thought. But he couldn't ignore the fact that he was becoming quite...

... drawn to her.

He grasped his hair with his fingers and let out a hiss.

He had to find her. And immediately.
