I woke up with a knot in my stomach. Today was the day of my important medical check-up, the one that would determine whether I would have to stay in the hospital for a while or if I could continue staying at school with my friends. I felt nervous, but I knew I wouldn't be alone. Leon and my brother Edgar would be by my side. I got out of bed and got ready slowly, trying to calm my nerves. When I was ready, I headed to the kitchen, where I found Leon making breakfast.

"Good morning, Gus," Leon said with a smile. "Ready for the big day?"

I nodded, trying to look more confident than I felt. "Yes, I'm ready. Thank you for being here with me."

Leon patted me on the shoulder. "Don't worry, everything will be fine. Edgar will join us directly at the hospital."

After having breakfast, we left the house and headed to the hospital. The road was quiet, with few passersby and the sun shining high in the sky. I watched the shops and houses along the way, trying to distract myself from my thoughts.

When we arrived at the hospital, we were greeted by a kind nurse who led us to the waiting room. I sat on a chair, trying to stay calm. Leon sat next to me, offering support and comfort. After a few minutes, Edgar arrived and joined us.

"Hi, Gus. How are you feeling?" Edgar asked, sitting next to me.

I smiled weakly. "A bit nervous, but I'm glad you're here with me."

Edgar smiled affectionately. "Don't worry, we're here for you. Everything will be fine."

Shortly after, a doctor entered the waiting room and called my name. "Gus, it's your turn. Can you come with me, please?"

I got up and followed the doctor, with Leon and Edgar by my side. We entered a bright and welcoming room, where the doctor began to explain the various tests he would perform.

"Gus, today we will do a series of tests to assess your condition. We will measure your lung capacity, take a chest X-ray, and check your blood oxygen levels."

I nodded, trying not to be overwhelmed by anxiety. The doctor started with the first test, asking me to blow into a device that measured my lung capacity. I did my best, following the doctor's instructions. After completing the test, the doctor took me to the X-ray room, where they took a chest X-ray. I tried to stay calm, but I felt my heart pounding in my chest. Leon and Edgar were always there, offering words of encouragement.

Finally, the doctor checked my blood oxygen levels using a small device that was applied to my finger. I watched closely, trying to understand what the numbers on the screen meant. After completing all the tests, the doctor asked me to return to the waiting room while he analyzed the results. I sat next to Leon and Edgar, trying not to be overwhelmed by anxiety.

"How long will it take?" I asked, trying to stay calm.

"About thirty minutes," the doctor replied. "We will call you as soon as we have the results."

I nodded and tried to relax, but I felt the anxiety growing inside me. Leon took my hand and smiled at me. "Everything will be fine, Gus. We're here with you."

As we waited, I began to feel my breathing becoming more labored. I tried to stay calm, but the anxiety was overwhelming me.

"Leon, I don't feel well," I said, trying to breathe deeply.

Leon turned to me, worried. "Gus, try to breathe slowly. I'm here with you."

I tried to follow Leon's instructions, but my breathing became increasingly difficult. Edgar came closer and tried to help me calm down.

"Gus, breathe slowly. Everything will be fine."

Despite Leon and Edgar's efforts, I had an asthma attack. My breathing became more labored, and I felt my chest tighten. Leon ran to call a nurse, who quickly arrived with an inhaler. The nurse helped me use the inhaler, and slowly my breathing began to improve. I felt exhausted but relieved.

"Thank you," I said weakly, looking at Leon and Edgar.

Leon smiled and stroked my hair. "Don't worry, Gus. You were very brave."

After a few minutes, the doctor returned with the test results. "Gus, I have analyzed your results, and I have to tell you that you will need to stay in the hospital for a week. We want to monitor your condition and make sure you receive the appropriate treatment."

I felt a wave of frustration and anger rise inside me. "But I can't stay in the hospital! You're taking away my freedom!"

The doctor tried to calm me down. "I understand it's difficult, but it's for your own good. We want to make sure you're well and that your condition is under control."

I started to scream, feeling the anger and frustration take over. "I don't want to stay here! I want to go back to school with my friends!"

Leon came closer and tried to calm me down. "Gus, I know it's hard, but you have to trust the doctors. They just want to help you."

I looked at Leon, feeling the tears run down my cheeks. "But I don't want to stay here, Leon. I'm scared."

Leon hugged me tightly, trying to convey calm and security. "I know, Gus. But I will be here with you. I won't leave you alone."

The doctor observed the scene with understanding. "Gus, we will start the treatment tonight. You will be in good hands, and we will do our best to make you feel comfortable."

I nodded slowly, accepting the situation. "Okay," I said weakly. "But I want Leon and Edgar to be here with me."

The doctor smiled and nodded. "Of course, they can stay with you. We will make sure you have all the support you need."

I felt a bit more relieved, knowing I wouldn't be alone. Leon and Edgar helped me settle into my hospital room, trying to make it as comfortable as possible. The room was bright, with white walls and a large window that let in the sunlight. There was a comfortable bed, a chair for guests, and a small table with a lamp. I lay down on the bed, feeling the weight of the day on my shoulders. Leon sat next to me and took my hand.

"Everything will be fine, Gus. We're here with you."

I smiled weakly, feeling the warmth of Leon and Edgar's support. "Thank you," I whispered. "I don't know what I would do without you."

The evening passed slowly, but I felt calmer knowing I had Leon and Edgar by my side. I knew that, whatever happened, I would face everything with the support of the people I loved.
