I awoke in a different room to the one I was in before. My eyes stung as I adjusted them to the bright light, I winced in pain as I felt the after shocks of the bruises on my back (due to the uncomfortable bed) and the cuts on my head. I tried to stretch my aching body but found I couldn't move my hands or feet. My brain snapped back into reality and I opened my eyes wide, hurriedly searching around the room for danger. I looked down and saw that I was tied up with black leather straps to a metal chair. I squirmed and pulled trying to get loose, but the straps were too tight. I didn't want to strain my body too much in case I had another opportunity to escape, so I stopped moving and looked around. I stared around the room and was surprised to see other children. They were all sat on chairs strapped in like me, the chairs were placed in a circle, all faced inwards. The room was completely white with nothing apart from cameras in the corners of the room, all watching us. I was curious who had taken us and why?, however something told me I didn't wanna find out. The others seemed about the same age as me, I counted how many were in the room, trying to focus my thoughts on something else rather than thinking about the present danger. 6, there were 6 of them, but why were they here? I remembered the man saying that they had 6 subjects and that they.. we were ready for testing. I was really confused, I didn't know what was going on and I started to have a panic attack. My breathing was heavy and I was struggling to calm down. What if they tortured me?, what if I died? Many thoughts crossed my brain, I tilted my head back, trying to get more air into my lungs. My eyes welled up, salty tears rolling down my face and tumbling to the floor. One of the other children woke up, they were opposite me in the circle, I continued to cry as I attempted to regulate my breathing. I heard the other person struggle a bit in their chair but then there was silence again. I glanced up still unable to breath properly and saw a boy. He didn't seem panicked, he seemed calm, our eyes met and he tilted his head to the side as if he was concerned. I heard the others stir, while never breaking eye contact with the boy I heard the screams and the shouts of the others when they discovered, like me, that they were trapped. That they were prisoners.
One of the girls, who was positioned next to me, took charge. She shouted louder than the noise in the room. Everyone stopped talking and stared at the girl, me and the boy even broke our gaze to gawk at the self nominated leader in the room. She spoke "Everyone stay calm, we aren't going to get anywhere if we shout and scream at the top of our lungs" "Now, does anyone remember anything?" Everyone in the room shook their heads, no one remembered anything. "Ok, can anyone get loose from the bonds" All of us shook our heads again. She sighed, bowing her head for a minute, as if to gather her thoughts, "Right, well lets see if we can get someone's attention then" She focused her view on the camera straight ahead of her, in the corner of the room. The area became silent, we were waiting for a person to burst in the door, when suddenly the girl spoke in a low voice "You can't control me, I remember" No one knew what she meant until grey smoke rose from her wrists and ankles. The leather slowly burned away, the girl stood up and flicked her wrists, causing her whole body to set on fire. She laughed, as if none of this was happening. She walked across the room and threw a fire bomb into the cameras, one by one she destroyed them, with each one a bigger, sarcastic grin produced on her face. The rest of us cowered into our chairs, I was intrigued but scared all the same. It looked as if the others were thinking the same thing, "Why hasn't anyone stopped her?" As if they were reading our minds, several people came in, they were dressed in white containment suits. They held black tubes in their hand, which they then proceeded to brake and throw at the girl, still on fire. The room became clouded with thick, black smoke for a few minutes, once it had cleared it left no sign of it ever being there, other than the extinguished girl lying on the floor. A man came in, the same man who announced we were ready for testing. What he voiced next shook me to my core, the words froze in the suddenly cold air. Shivers ran up my spine as I glanced at the other children, they were as shocked as I was. "This girl is supernatural, and so are all of you" "You all have powers, and I plan to unlock the secret to these gifts" "You have no choice in the matter, these serums will give you back some of your memories, the rest of the memories I cannot allow you to have" The vile man strutted out, his boots pounding the floor, I was cautiously curious about him but I was more so intimidated by him. The other people advanced towards each of us. We struggled against the metal chairs just as they revealed a green, liquid substance bottled in a syringe. I cringed away from the hand that pushed my hair from my neck, poking the sharp needle against my naked skin. I let out a sob as it pushed into my skin, then I was aware of the blood trickling down my neck at the same time the green liquid entered my bloodstream. I accepted the need to sleep that I felt and met eyes with the boy again, I then fell into a trance, it felt like I was falling. Like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, except the hole didn't end until I stopped dreaming. When I woke up I remembered everything, I even saw the woman who had warned me of the danger. Although I couldn't remember who she was, but I was determined to find out...
