Chapter 22: The Brothers' Suffering Begins

The pregnancy cravings had officially begun, and the Pandavas and Karna were about to realize what true suffering meant for the next nine months.

It all started one evening when Draupadi, now three months pregnant, sat in her chamber, her arms crossed, pouting angrily. She had been waiting all day for something specific—tamarind! But her husbands, despite all their valor and intelligence, had completely forgotten to bring it for her.

Just as she was about to go and scold them herself, she spotted Karna passing by.

Draupadi’s Complaint to Karna

Draupadi immediately stood up, waddled toward Karna, and pointed an accusing finger at him.

"Karna! You are my brother-in-law, and I know you listen when I speak. Tell me, are your brothers utterly useless?"

Karna blinked, confused. "What happened, Panchali?"

"Those five fools forgot to bring me tamarind! I have been waiting all day, and nothing! What kind of husbands forget such an important thing?!" she fumed, crossing her arms.

Karna tried to hold back a laugh. He had fought countless warriors in battle, faced enemies stronger than mountains, and yet… this? This was truly terrifying.

Before he could answer, Vrushali entered the room, her hand on her waist, looking equally furious.

Vrushali Joins the Chaos

"Karna!" Vrushali’s voice was sharp.

Karna turned toward his wife, feeling an uneasy sense of doom settle over him.

"Yes, Vrushali…?" he asked cautiously.

She narrowed her eyes. "Where is my mango? My ripe mango?! I told you yesterday, and you said you would bring it, but nothing! Do you not love me anymore?!"

Karna panicked. "I— I forgot, but I—"

Vrushali started to cry, and at the same time, Draupadi also burst into tears, dramatically sitting down.

"We are carrying their children, and they don’t even care about us!" Draupadi wailed.

"Exactly! They act like great warriors, but they can’t even bring fruit for their wives!" Vrushali sobbed.

Karna froze, looking at the two crying women before him. This was a battle he could never win.

And that was when the Pandavas entered the chamber, completely unprepared for the storm that awaited them.

The 6 Brothers Realize Their Fate

Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva had been talking amongst themselves when they heard Draupadi's cries. Concerned, they rushed to her chamber—only to see Karna looking like he had just been defeated in war, while both women sobbed loudly.

Yudhishthira frowned. "What happened?!"

Draupadi glared at him through her tears. "You forgot my tamarind! That’s what happened!"

Yudhishthira paled. "...Oh."

Bhima, always one to act quickly, turned to Arjuna. "Brother, why did you not remind us?!"

Arjuna snapped. "Why is it MY fault?! You forgot too!"

Nakul and Sahadeva, sensing danger, immediately took a step back, hoping to avoid the conflict. But it was too late.

Vrushali turned to Karna again. "And you! My mango?!"

At that moment, all six brothers realized one painful truth—

They were going to suffer for the next nine months.

The Great Fruit Hunt Begins

Within minutes, the six warriors—mighty heroes of Bharatvarsha—were running around the palace, searching for fruits like their lives depended on it.

Bhima ran to the palace kitchen, demanding, "TAMARIND! WE NEED TAMARIND!"

Arjuna stormed out on horseback to find the best mango trees.

Nakul and Sahadeva searched every royal storage room, knocking over baskets of fruit in their desperation.

Karna, who had suffered the most, sighed and left the palace, determined to bring the ripest mango for Vrushali before she killed him.

Yudhishthira, the eldest and supposedly wisest, simply sat down and held his head. "This is worse than any war," he muttered.

Meanwhile, Draupadi and Vrushali wiped their tears, exchanging amused glances.

Draupadi smirked. "Did you see their faces?"

Vrushali giggled. "They think they are suffering now? Just wait until we demand midnight snacks!"

The next nine months were going to be very, very long for the Pandavas and Karna.
