Long time no see, and for that I deeply apologize.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce I will be discontinuing this fic, at least for the time being.
HOWEVER-
If you want to know how Doro and Jamie's story goes, below is the plot overview I worked out when originally planning this story. I had some changes in mind, but these are the bare bones, and I hope you see the vision the way I did way back when I was writing this.
If you are a fan of this story and love writing, I highly encourage you to take this and run with it! Write those scenes, send them to me, and I would love to publish them in this book, obviously with all of the credit going to you. I think it would be super fun to turn this into a one-shot style story rather than just discontinue it all together. If this is something that interests you, absolutely reach out!
Without further or do, the story of Jamie Tartt and Doro MacTully!!
Born 1996 to Scottish parents who moved to New York when she was 6. Nicknamed Doro.
- end of training, colin comments on how jamie was staring. ted introducing jamie and doro and saying jamie needs physical therapy. They exchange numbers, jamie is shy, feeling guilty about embarrassing her at training. Keeley comes in after, she twisted her ankle and asks for help. Doro gets backstory on jamie
- first session with jamie. They make small talk, she tells him about her happy upbringing, and makes him go into his shell. She notices, but doesn't see it as her place to help. Instead, she makes conversation about football. She played for the oxford blues. He is taken with her. Later, colin comes back into her office and they chat. He asks her to go out for drinks with himself, isaac, dani, and sam.
- they go out, doro explains that she doesn't drink because she relies on her brain and doesn't want to do anything to get in it's way. They support her, and leave the pub, opting for a movie instead. They go to Isaac's house and end up sleeping over, with doro falling asleep in Colin's arms
- next morning, isaac, sam, and dani give doro and colin a hard time ab falling asleep together. She's the last one to leave, and they're awkward . Colin comes out as gay to her, and isn't sure why. She's the first person he ever told, and they go get breakfast. While there, they run into Jamie. He approaches them, saying Hi awkwardly. Colin leaves them. Jamie and doro have breakfast, Jamie asks if her and colin are a thing. She says they're definitely just friends. He asks if she has any "not-friends" which is really cute. She says no, and he says no too. He drives her to her apartment, waits for her to get ready, and drives to the club.
- they arrive together, and during training, doro goes and find keeley. She tells her about breakfast with jamie, and they have lunch together with rebecca. After training is over, doro does PT with Jamie. This time they talk about their pets. Doro has Robbie, Jamie has a dog named Dinho. When she gets home she calls her brother and they talk about her new job. He's only 20, still in college in America.
- A few days later, doro is watching the news and sees how evil dubai air is. Sitting with jamie in the locker room looking at his knee, they talk quietly about how he wants to apologize to the team. She agrees it's a good idea, and he says that since he's bad at reading the room, she needs to give him a "bat signal" (cracking her neck) when keeley shows sam the dubai air photos, she makes a comment about how awful they are and is surprised sam is willing to be in their campaign. Jamie suggests that doro pull sam aside individually to talk to him about it. When keeley promotes Bantr, Jamie watches doro's fingers hover over the download button and then decide against it. She sees the team looking at jamie and gives him the bat signal. When it doesn't work, she hangs back with ted and tells him that Jamie's really trying.
- at training, it gives doro a heart attack every time jamie gets tackled. She feels helpless and can see the pain on his face.after training she wants to speak with jamie, but first she pulls sam aside and tells him about dubai air. Sam thanks her just as he gets a text back from his dad. She catches up with Jamie, going with him to the therapy room. He admits that he's trying, but he doesn't really understand how these things work. He asks for her help winning the team back, and she agrees. They walk out together, but colin asks her to go shopping with him for a dinner party outfit. Doro and jamie hug for the first time. She whispers "it'll be alright, i have faith in you"
- at shopping, colin asks what's going on with jamie. She admits they're close, and tells colin that jamie really does care and truly wants to right his wrongs. Colin begins to concede, and takes her home. Next morning, jamie tells her ab plans to buy ps5s, she discourages him. She has a meeting with other pts during training, but when it's over and she has an appointment with jamie, he tells her about Led Tasso. Colin texts her about the mouth comment and how great jamie was. Jamie says that the team is fucking with his head, so Doro takes him to sharon for therapy.
- A few days later on match day, as the team is getting into their headspace, Doro freaks out in her office. It's her first game, and as she's developed relationships with the players, she's terrified of actually having to DO her job. Coach beard finds her and calms her down. He takes her to the locker room, just as she sees sam taping his kit. She watches jamie lead the rest of the men to follow suit. As the team file out, she pulls sam back and kisses his cheek proudly. Jamie sees, gets jealous, but decides not to say anything.
- The game goes off without a hitch, even though they lose. She brings the beers down to the locker room and jamie is the first person in. She hugs him and says she's proud of him. They party, and when she tells him she doesn't drink, he tries to get rid of his beer. She laughs and says he can keep it, and that she'll drive him home later. They dance together and the whole team goes to rebeccas mansion to have a movie night with nora before she leaves. Doro is sandwiched between jamie and dani, who cuddles her closely. Jamie gets jealous of him. In jamies car, she drives home dani, sam, isaac, colin, jamie, and richard. It is late by the time they get to jamies, so he doesn't allow her to take the tube home. She falls asleep on the couch next to him.
- After Man City, Doro walks Jamie home. He asks her to stay the night. The next morning they talk about it. Jamie implies that he likes her. They have an unspoken agreement and doro starts staying over often.
- After the funeral, Jamie tells Doro that he loves her, they kiss, and he asks her to be his girlfriend. After a few weeks, Jamie asks her to move in with him, and they buy an apartment together.
- They have s*x for the first time the first night they're in the apartment.
- doro's cat Robbie passes away, they hold a funeral for the team.
- After the last game of the season, Doro gets crazy drunk (turns SUPER scottish) and admits she loves Jamie, but she's scared she'll ruin both of their careers. She gets angry at him for being so good to her and so easy to love. He realized he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
- On the off season they adopt a dog named Maradona (Dona). They visit America and meet Doro's parents.
- Road trip to Glasgow to see grandma and party with Doro/ Jamie/ Isaac/ Sam/ Dani/ Isaac/ Richard.
- The season starts and everything is going well. Zava favors Doro (platonically) and calls her a miracle worker, which upsets Dani, sam, and colin, and makes Jamie jealous. Doro calms the situation but grapples with the fact that Jamie seems to undermine her male friendships with everyone except people he's comfortable around. They have a talk, and he admits that he's overly-possessive, but she's the most stable thing in his life and he would hate to see anything change that.
- In Amsterdam, Doro is frustrated that Jamie accidentally stood her up to train. Roy took his phone, and when Jamie shows up at the hotel at midnight, she realizes this misunderstanding. They shower together and then go to a random bridge. Jamie proposes to Doro.
- After the first training for total football, Jamie genuinely injures his d*ck, and Doro treats it (at home) leading to a memorable evening.
- During the international break, Doro is selected as a medic for the match and gets to watch Jamie play for England.
- When they return to Man City, Jamie's anxiety is overwhelming. He asks Doro if she would go to his mum's with him. After Roy and Keely leave, Doro and Jamie have s*x on his childhood bed and stay the night.
- The next day at the game, when Jamie injures himself, Doro can't stop herself from running onto the pitch the second time he falls. She helps him up and the cameras catch her engagement ring on her finger. When the crowd reacts, Jamie winks to the cameras and kisses her cheek. That's when she knows he's fine and brings Ted over to talk to him. When he gets up, she kisses him, and he pumps his fist in celebration for the cameras.
- After the game, Doro helps him text his father. After Ted tells the team he's leaving, she organizes a rager for him, at which she breaks her ankle. Jamie takes her to the hospital.
- The night before the last game, Jamie can't sleep. They go for a walk around Richmond and stop at all the places that hold memories for them. They kiss and Jamie realizes that football is no longer his entire world; it's Doro.
- The next day at the match, Doro has a panic attack when Jamie dives, not realizing it was a scheme, and she realizes that now he's not just another patient, and the career ending injuries she deals with daily could be him. Ted helps her get over it.
- After the match, they party and Doro gets wasted again and tells the team (in a heavy Scottish accent) how much they mean to her. Doro and Jamie, who is also wasted, walk home and stumble around, kissing under the streetlights. A paparazzi catches them and they flip him off.
- They have a team breakfast the next morning to send Ted off. Jamie asks Roy to be his best man. They get married and honeymoon in Scotland.
- (This won't be a plot point, but mentioned in the epilogue) They have two sons named Malcolm (Mac) Edward Tartt and Caleb Samuel Tartt. (Malcolm and Caleb both mean "faith")
Obviously this is a bit scattered and not ever main episode/ plot point is accounted for, but I hope this satisfied any burning desires to know whether or not Jamie and Doro have a happy ending. (Spoiler alert: of course they do)
And for anyone with any lingering questions, I have an absurd amount of details about these two and this story stored away in my brain, so feel free to ask!
Once again, I am so sorry that Faith must come to a premature end, but hopefully we can all have a bit of fun with it!!
