"I can't wait for the dance party after school! Aren't you excited?"
"I'm not going."
"Why not?"
"You know my reason. Besides you'll be fine without me."
Annabelle frowns at me. I drink more whisky. I rest my arm on the railing looking at the lights. My name is Elie, a person who everyone hates except for the most perfect person in school Annabelle Patricia Rain. We're on her patio at the moment.
"Elie. May I ask you a question?"
"Yeah. What about?"
"What is it like to not have a family?"
I spit my whiskey and cough. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" Annabelle says patting my back. "The question surprised me." Annabelle sighs looking worried. "Well there's positives and negatives. You have allot of freedom and control, but you're alone That's what it's kinda like," I answer. I push the glass to the side. "I'm sorry for making you choke."
"It's fine. You didn't do it on purpose."
I leave two dollars on the railing. "I'm heading out. Thanks for the drinks Annabelle," I say walking out. "Bye Elie." I sigh. Yeah that question is true. My entire family died in an accident, and I was the only survivor. The reason why I can't go to the party is because I have allot of enemies and I'm not a very social person. I open the door to my house and lay on the bed. Yes house not apartment. I have three jobs and school despite only being fifteen years old. I lied about my age to live alone. I close my eyes and fall asleep.

"Elie Patry get back here!"
"All I did was pick up a dime! Not all the dimes are yours!"
"I dropped it then you stole it!"
"No I didn't! I picked it up and dropped it when you yelled at me!"
I slip on the wet floor and hit the lockers. Students crowd around me and laugh their asses off. "Elie are you okay?" Annabelle asks rushing to me out of nowhere. She offers me a hand to stand up, and I take it. "Well everything hurts," I say with my legs shaking. That locker really hit my head. "Do you need my help standing up?"
"Damn right I do." I put my arm on her shoulders, and she places one hand on my stomach and another on my back. We make it to a bench in the football field at the back. "Why don't you go to the nurse's office?" Annabelle asks me letting me go to sit. "It doesn't matter if I'm hurt, it matters if I'm sick," I explain. She sighs and treats my injuries. Annabelle sits next to me looking in a distance. A couple of minutes of silence, she stands up grabbing her purse. "We better get to the cafeteria," Annabelle says. "Do you need my help walking there, Elie?" I stand up ignoring how painful it is. "Nah I'm good. I don't want to weigh you down." I put my hands in my pockets and walk beside her. "Tomorrow is the dance party. I never knew it would come this fast." "Well time flies," I kick a rock. We both find a table inside near the giant window to get outside. Then a group of sluts walk over to me and Annabelle. "Hey Anna! Do you mind if we eat lunch with you?" the one in the front asks. I remember these girls. I tied their hairs to the flagpole because they were bullying two nerds, and they return the favor by spraying my mouth with hairspray. Annabelle looks at me scared. I shrug. It's her decision. "Um no thank you."
"What? Why not?"
"I just don't."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"We'll give you money."
"I'm fine."
"But we're your best friends." They keep on pressuring. Can't they get it through their thick hair that she said no? Also no one else is her best friend but me. I stand up. "She said no! Fuck off!" I say angry. "Well well well if it isn't Elie, the bitch." "And here are the clan of whores." She growls. "Why do you even want to sit with Annabelle?" I ask dryly. "None of your business you dumb shit." "Says the one who looks like it." She slaps me in the face. I stumble back and stop. I face her to punch the makeup out of her face. "You bitch! You broke my nail!" she screams. "You can just buy another one," I say with a shrug. She runs to me. I dodge making her crash though the giant window. Annabelle rushes to me. "Elie! Are you alright?" "Yeah. I'm fine."
"You scared me when she slapped you in the face."
"I took worse."
"I don't like seeing you get hurt. You're my best friend Elie, and I care about you."
"It's cliché but okay."
Suddenly, a heavy force hits me (hurts more in the face), and I hit the wall across the cafeteria. I shake my head and see a huge pink dragon at the place where that bitch was. It can't be true. Can it? That's impossible I think. The claws grab me and holds me up to the dragon's nose. "I'll show you who's stronger," it said. It throws me up the ceiling and slams me on the ground over and over. Next, it drags me back and forth. Then, it hits me on the ground side-to-side like a rag doll.Well my ribs are being crushed, nose is bleeding, running out of air, and I'm going to get a concussion. Another beating that almost kills me. After what feels like six hours, she throws me at the same wall I crashed into to hurting my spine. I feel my eyes weighing down a little. Then seeing in a blurry vision I see someone wearing dark clothes holding a long sharp object attacking the dragon. I'm probably going to be unconscious for a long time. This is going to worry Annabelle to death. I see her shaking in my horrible vision. It's easy to tell because her clothes are usually like what British people wear. Then again we are in Europe. "Elie! Elie!" I hear her call my name. "Sup," I say weakly. "How can you be smiling when you're bleeding a pool size?"
"Hell I don't know."
"I never thought you would get this seriously injured," she said tearing up.
"Don't cry. It makes you look weaker."
My eyes are getting heavier. The last thing I see is Annabelle crying. It's makes me feel worse since it's my fault. Well I hope I don't die with guilt.
