What the hell just happened?
I mean, he's not my dad, but he's claiming me as his daughter?
And he even brought me to his house?
And that roleplayer looks exactly like Captain Jungkook.
Wow, he probably has high talent fees. And listen, everything seems real.
I almost had a heart attack a while ago.
I thought I was gonna die.
Haha, nice acting skills.
Everything looks so different. It looks old.Lol, what's going on? Haha.
"Oh God, Yn! Your father told me what happened. Are you okay?"
A woman came running to Yn. She looked beautiful, probably in her 40s.
Yn's heart was beating faster. This feeling seemed familiar—too familiar for her to forget.
The woman smiled and caressed her cheek. "Are you hungry? Come here, I'll cook you some food."
But Yn didn't follow. Instead, she stood frozen, tears flowing down her face. "Mom," she muttered.
Her mother had died after giving birth to her brother. And after that, she'd never experienced a mother's love again.
And now, right in front of her—her mother. The woman who gave her life and loved her unconditionally. She missed her. She missed her mom.
She slowly sat at the dining table and stared at her mother. She couldn't believe it.
If this was a dream, she'd rather not wake up.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Her mother noticed her crying, and Yn just laughed it off.
"It's nothing, Mom. I...I just missed you."
Her mother laughed. "Why are you suddenly acting strange?" she said.
The food was ready, and they chit-chatted a little bit.
"Mom, why are you wearing a hanbok? I’ve never seen clothes like that before," Yn asked, and it made her confused as hell.
"What? I don’t get you, Mom," she chuckled nervously.
"And what is this?" Her mother pointed at her cellphone.
"For real, Mom? You don’t know this?"
Her mother slowly shook her head.
Yn sighed. "This is called a cellphone. You use it to communicate, for entertainment, and to check dates," she explained. It wasn’t a brief explanation, but she knew her mother understood.
"Really? Where did you get that? And can you tell me the date today?"
Yn checked her phone and went to the calendar. But she wasn’t expecting what she saw.
"October 7, 1894."
Are you fucking kidding me?
Whoever is playing a joke on me, please stop. It's not funny. Wait—no, for real?! Did I seriously jump back to 1894?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! she thought.
No way. No way. Just no.
How did this happen? Why did this happen? What the fuck?! Huhu, Mommy…
It’s just a dream, right? Please tell me I’m just dreaming.
I mean, I missed my mom so much, but WHY 1894?! I know so many things happened this year. I just don’t know what. Hehe, I don’t listen. Wait—hold the fuck up. If I really traveled back in time, then who am I here? IS THIS MY PAST LIFE???
Okay, hold up. My mom just told me that Dad is gonna have a dinner meeting here and we need to attend too? Seriously? Oh, I forgot that everything is formal here. God, I can’t believe I’m in 1894."You have a nice home, General Kim," the visitors greeted. There were lots of them, but enough to fit at the long, elegant table. They weren’t all here yet, though.
Yn was looking down from her room upstairs. Her mother told her to dress up since they were also attending the meeting. The house was elegant, and you could tell just by the interiors that the family was wealthy.
It was a mansion, but it looked more like a castle.
She thought she might get lost with how big it was.My family here is indeed rich, huh? And my dad here is a general. Wow.
Wait—oh God.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA WHY DO I FEEL SO NERVOUS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Oh my God.
If I’m really in 1894…DOES THAT MEAN I’M SEEING THE REAL CAPTAIN JEON??? NOT A ROLEPLAYER??
FOR REAL??? AM I SEEING OUR NATIONAL HERO ALIVE????...He's handsome, though.
I mean, I’ve seen his pics on the web, but he’s hotter in person.
Err—what? Why am I saying this? I must be out of my mind. She was just quietly eating her meal, lost in thought about everything that had happened today.
"This is my daughter, Kim Yn."
She snapped out of her thoughts when her father mentioned her. All eyes were on her now.
She used to like this kind of attention, but now that she had no idea what was happening—she felt so uncomfortable.
"Haha, yow, what’s up?" she greeted out of nervousness.
She gulped when her father raised an eyebrow at her. She also noticed the confusion on the visitors’ faces.
"What language is that, Miss Kim?" one of the visitors asked. "I haven’t heard of that language before."
She gulped. How was she supposed to explain that it was English but in an advanced version?
"I-It’s...uhm..." Her eyes darted around the room. She was looking for ideas, but her brain worked faster than logic.
"It’s Pornessian Parpio language," she blurted out nervously.
The visitors seemed convinced and amazed.
"You must be quite knowledgeable to know such a language. I’ve been studying foreign languages, but I’ve never heard of this one. Maybe you can teach me some someday?" one of them said, and everyone laughed.
Meanwhile, Yn finally let out a breath of relief.
I forgot everything is formal here. Of all names, why "Pornessian Parpio"? Well, at least I survived that. Phew.
Most of the guests were high-ranking officials. Some of them were probably mentioned in her history lessons, but since Yn never listened to history, she had no idea who they were.
She decided to explore the house. The servants were cleaning the dining area and washing the dishes.
She started with the garden. As expected, there were lots of plants and flowers. People loved gardening back then since it was one of their only forms of entertainment.
Next, she went upstairs. There were lots of rooms.
"I wonder if I have a sibling here," she muttered while tracing her fingers along the stair railing.
She checked the rooms, but one of them was locked. Even though her curiosity was overflowing, she didn’t try to open it.
"Why is that door locked?" she asked herself.
She went downstairs, and the library quickly caught her attention. She entered the room and was amazed.
The shelves were tall and filled with books. "This is amazing," she said.
She ran her fingers along the books. They weren’t dusty, meaning they were read often.
"Oh my God!" she gasped when she found a book all about fashion.
She was a fashion fanatic. That’s why she wanted to be a fashion designer.
But as soon as she tried to take it out, she heard a faint but intriguing noise. It sounded like something had opened.
Curious, she turned around and saw a secret passage behind the shelves.
Without thinking twice, she stepped inside.
The space was barely lit, but the dim lights were enough to see.
There were multiple routes inside. Books, paintings, and hallways—it looked like a maze.
"Where do I go?" she murmured, staring at the two paths—left or right?
The deeper she walked, the heavier the air felt. Her curiosity was strong, but her fear was stronger now.
She turned back—but she didn’t know which way was the exit.
"AH!" she screamed when someone touched her shoulder. She shut her eyes and froze.
IS IT A GHOST??
"Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners—"
"What are you doing?" Her eyes flew open.
"C-Captain?" she stuttered, cursing herself. "You're here too?"
She was standing face-to-face with the real Jeon Jungkook.
"I thought you were at the meeting—"
"I am, but your father asked me to look for you," he said and started walking away.
Kim YN followed him, and it was a series of left and right turns. She couldn't even memorize them because the twists were making her dizzy.
They successfully got out of the maze-like room, and YN felt relieved. She thought she was going to die there.
Jungkook took the fashion book back to its place, and the secret room was finally hidden behind the shelves again.
"He's in the office," Jungkook said before leaving.
How did he find me in that maze?
He didn’t even have difficulties finding his way back out... It's like he memorized it.

Has he been here before?
