I came stumbling back to the house at 7 in the morning.

My eyes were red and puffy from crying most of the night.

I tip toed into the house quietly so not to wake up everyone else. I'm still wearing just a long t-shirt and panties so I have to go change, careful not to wake up Haley, who is sleeping sprawled across the whole bed.

I make my way to the entertainment room only to find the TV already on.

"What are you doing up, sweetheart?"

I don't even need to turn around to know who's annoyingly, honey sweet voice that is. "Luke, what are you doing up already?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

I poke my tongue into the side of my cheek. "Didn't sleep. Now you?"

He shrugs. "Calum was hogging the blankets. That and I really can't sleep once the sun's up."

"How tragic?"

Luke chuckles, patting the couch. "Come sit with me, sweetheart."

"Are you ever going to stop calling me that?"

Luke grins. "Never."

I sigh, sitting next to him. "You make my life very difficult, you know that?"

"What better way to live?" Luke inquires.

I roll my eyes. "What are you watching?"

He shrugs. "I'm pretty sure it's the cooking channel." He glances at me. "Did you know Haley cooks?"

"Why don't you just tell her you like her? And don't just want to fuck her?"

He raises an eyebrow. "That's what you got out of the fact that she likes to cook? Wow, one track mind, you."

I look at him. "I'm serious Luke."

"I can't. She has a boyfriend. Even if I've never met the guy, it's like breaking the guy code," Luke explains.

I roll my eyes, trying to keep Haley's secret. "What if she starts liking you more? Then it would be worth it."

"Guy code. It's more important," Luke states simply.

"Is it? Is it really?" I ask in an exasperated tone.

"You know what I'm noticing?" Luke asks.

I shrug. "What?"

He shifts a little. "Me and Haley? We remind me of another pair of people. You and Calum."

Holding back the nervousness in my voice I ask, "How so?" He can't know about Calum still...having feelings for me. Can he?

"Well it's just...feelings. You guys feel something deep down. But you have a boyfriend. And neither of you are willing to admit it. That's how I see Haley and I," Luke says.

I don't feel myself blush. Usually with any mention of Calum I'd blush. "That's not how it is. At all." No it's not. Not really. He did admit it. And because I don't have feelings for him. We are nothing like Haley and Luke.

"I can't see it that way," I repeat, distracting myself by watching some lady preparing a mini strawberry tart.

"Well what do I know? I can't read you guys' minds. I wish I could, that'd be wickedly cool," Luke says. "Don't you think? I'd know all of everyone's dirty little secrets. It'd be the ultimate form of black mail."

I laugh at his ridiculousness.

After a few moments of silence I yawn. I am exhausted after not sleeping a wink. Luke nudges me. "Maybe you should sleep a few hours."
