When her eyes started to crack open she saw that room was darker than dark, all lights were out and the blinds had been drawn. Likely to allow for a very deep sleep. She had slid her elbows back beneath her to sit up slightly and attempt to look around the room. The more she sat up, the more pain errupted through her body. Sore and stiff did not even begin to cover it, there was obviously a few deeply bruised bones that laid beneath the skin. Of course she'd recover fine, their bodies didn't necessarily heal at the speed of light, but it took much lesser of a time to heal for Terikotan's than it did for humans. Two things came into play there. One being that their body temperatures were slightly hotter due to their blood that boiled under the surface. So when an external cut happened, the blood that pooled out basically coterized the wound. Two, was that the internal injuries were taken care of by the energy force that the Goddess flowed through the select families. It was almost like, a cold drink of lemonade on a hot day to feel that energy flow through you. She would be healed in no time.
Without warning the door opened, flooding the room with light. Unable to see she hissed out a warning and went to launch herself up before smelling a familiar scent, like a sweet aroma of baked goodies on a cold wintery day. As soon as her eyes adjusted she saw Zeal. A slight nod came from him as she leaned back into the bed again.
"Zeal." She spoke with a tip of her head.
"Selene." He pulled up a chair beside her bed and sat foward with his elbows on his knees observing her. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling as good as anyone could feel in my condition." She bit her lip, not particularly wanting to talk about what happened but knowing it would come sooner or later.
"My dearest pupil, you do understand that yeste.....well, that the competition will need to be reheld." A sigh came from her body at his hesitation, knowing the council was likely furious.
"I understand sir." She closed her eyes and only wished she was tired enough to sleep. "How long have I been asleep for?"
He squinted his dark eyes at her and shook his head, before squeezing the bridge of his nose. "A week."
Sitting up quicker than what her body could handle she gasped and went wide eyed. "A WEEK!?"
Zeal chuckled and reached out to lay her back down gently, "Hush. You're lucky it wasn't longer, they wanted to induce a coma to allow for healing time. But your body picked up quickly."
"I'm sorry Zeal, but a week is outrageous! I usual heal much faster, what happened?!" She could barely recall the final details of the fight.
He looked her over, eyes scanning over every ridge. As if he was deeply contemplating what actually did happen and trying to recall the memory. Granted it made her feel extremely naked while his eyes scanned over her. No, she didn't necessarily have a crush on her mentor, but there was a definite attraction there. "You....became overwhelmed. It looked as though you manifested so much energy from the earth that it overpowered you and instead of releasing slowly through your body, just shot out like a dark from every corner of your being."
She didn't like that he looked worried, it meant he didn't have all the answers. "Zeal.....what's really wrong?" She spoke quietly, soft enough to barely be a whisper.
He looked her over one last time, "Nothing. Let's get you up so you can eat." He held his hand out to her, she took it. Leaning over her he slid his hand down under the blanket and pulled her legs to the edge of the bed.
"Zeal I'm not an infant." Glaring incredulously.
A small chuckle rumbled in his chest, "I know, but you are injured. And as your mentor I'll be the one to help you." After pulling her legs around and getting her to sit up right he eased her onto her feet. Pulling her forward.
