Louis walked into the Starbucks, ignoring the gawks he got from girls and a few boys. Some people had no shame. If Louis found people attractive enough to stare at, he wouldn't do it so openly. The thing that really pissed Louis off was that people thought he was cute. They had no idea that Louis killed people for a living. Louis was sure that if they knew, they would have an entirely different reaction to him. Occasionally, Louis wished that he could tell people, shut them up, make them duck their heads in fear.

He ordered his regular and sat down at a table. Liam had texted him and Zayn with the details of his date. Zayn just groaned about how annoying Liam had been before. They fought for a while before Louis heard his name being called out. They had spelt his name wrong, what else was new, but the tea tasted good nonetheless. Louis did hear some weird whispering as he paid though. When Louis turned around he saw none other than Harry Styles whispering to a brunette. That was Louis' chance.

Louis walked over to their table and started his act. That was Louis' favourite part. Acting. He could pretend to be anyone. He could pretend that he actually did have feeling. He could pretend that he wasn't homicidal.

"Harry, right?"

Harry looked absolutely giddy as soon as his name came out of Louis' mouth, and he nodded eagerly. "Louis, right?"

That threw Louis off track. Harry knew who he was, too? That didn't make any sense. Louis was great at keeping below the radar. He didn't have any forms of social media, and he only gave his name out when it was absolutely necessary.

"I'm sorry. I've probably freaked you out. El, can you..." El wiggled her eyebrows before whispering something to Harry and leaving. "Sorry, my friend used to talk about you all the time. He made you sound like a god, and he apparently wasn't that far off," Harry flirted with a quick smile.

Louis sat down in the chair across from Harry. "Oh really?" Harry nodded, licking his lips and looking Louis over. "Well maybe you could get to know me as more than just a god."

"I'd like that," Harry said, biting his lip this time.

"Here, this time tomorrow. You up for it?"

"I'll see you then," Harry agreed, smiling so wide that his dimples looked deeper than the Grand Canyon.

Louis reached across the table and adjusted Harry's pink flower crown. "And I'll see you then, Princess."

Harry blushed, making Louis feel endeared which was weird. The only feeling Louis should be feeling towards Harry was... Well nothing. Louis didn't feel anything towards his victims. He killed because it was his job and had become a habit, not because he hated them. Louis killed, he wasn't sadistic. He didn't smile and cackle at his victim's pain. He just didn't cry either.

Louis shook his head and took another sip of his tea as he walked out. Zayn was waiting in the car for him since he had helped Louis figure out where Harry was most likely to go. Zayn always helped Louis with that while Louis helped Zayn figure out a smooth plan of attack.

"So how'd it go?"

"I'm meeting him here tomorrow at the same time," Louis informed Zayn. "What about the kid you've gotta kill? Niall, right?"

"Yeah. He just moved here from Ireland a few years ago. Are you coming with me or do you want me to drop you off at your flat?"

"I'll come. You know I like you see you work, my dearest Zayn. Besides, I'd like to see what this Niall kid looks like."

Zayn started driving as Louis buckled up. "He's got blue eyes, bleached his hair blonde, really cute."

"Careful, Zayn. Don't fall for your victim," Louis joked.

"Look who's talking, mister I have a date with my victim tomorrow."

"You know I always lure my victims into a false sense of security. Dating them is way easier than trying to become friends. They fall, I kill. Bam, circle of life."

"I don't think that's how it works," Zayn laughed.

"Of course that's how it works. If I say that's how it works, then that's how it works."

Zayn laughed and pointed at a kid walking down the sidewalk. "That's him. That's Niall. What should I do?"

"Go up to him. Don't flirt until the end. He'll fall for your beauty and then when he sees that your interested too, he'll die. Figuratively of course. You're going to have to do that bit yourself." Louis suggested with a shrug.

Often times, Louis did not understand how Zayn had trouble. He had the looks and the charisma that made people fall for him almost instantly. The issue was that Zayn didn't use that to his advantage. Louis was attractive, he knew that, but his lack of emotions made it difficult for people to fall for him as easily as they did with Zayn. To make up for that, Louis used his humour and faux charm. His years of acting in high school truly came in handy for work.

"That's a good idea."

Zayn pulled over and walked towards Niall. Louis was unable to hear what he was saying but it looked as if he was doing a good job. A little later on in the conversation, Zayn started flashing his pearly white teeth more often. He said something that made Niall freeze and brushed his fingers across Niall's cheek. Niall shivered and watched Zayn with wide eyes. As Zayn walked off, he winked and waved.

"Great job! He's mesmerized!"

"Really?"

"Yes, really. Just look at him!"

Niall was standing there with a hand over where Zayn had touched him. He had a small smile on his face and looked right whipped.

"So I did alright?" Zayn asked hopefully.

"Alright? That's quite the understatement," Louis said, clapping a hand on Zayn's shoulder. "He'll practically let you kill him by the time you're ready to."

Zayn laughed nervously. "Yeah..."

Zayn wasn't sure what to do. Louis was so good at killing, and Zayn wanted to be as good as he was. The only problem was that Zayn had feelings. He could fall in love. He got crushes, he liked people, and his heart fell for people that he liked. Louis was different. He didn't fall in love. From what it seemed like, Louis didn't even have any feelings. He was just an emotionless robot. That's what everyone thought. Everybody just thought that Louis was surviving but not living. Even Louis agreed. He thought he was a robot as well. It had scared him greatly at first, but eventually he got over it. He learned to live without emotions. It took him a large amount of time, but he did get over it. The shock passed, and he went on with his life. Many people envied him for the trait that they also feared him for. Louis didn't really care, though. It was a part of him, and he couldn't change that.

A/N: The side of Ziall, as I'm sure you've noticed is developing, will most definitely not be the focus of the story.
