Noah's POV:

After a few minutes of laying in bed I knew that sleep was pointless no matter how long I try to make myself go to sleep I am never going to sleep.
I got up from my bed to go to the kitchen. I didn't put on any shoes because I don't like wearing them a lot so I avoided it if I had to. When I got to the stairs I stopped, whenever I think about it now I always stop, unless I'm in a hurry, before I go down the stairs and look at the pictures that are on the wall. I think because there is some thing missing in every picture but I don't know what it is. Maybe that's why I always stop to see the pictures to see if I can figure it out but I never can. After looking at the pictures again and looking at them closely I made it to the kitchen. I didn't know what I wanted so I just skimmed the fridge but there was nothing really appealing, so I just settled on drinking some juice and sat on a stool that was close to the counter. Looking out into the darkness through the window on the door on my left, my mind started wondering towards my mate.

I can't believe I found her already. I wonder what would happen whenever we finally mate and have our own kids. I have so many questions of how our future will be. And it might not be easy some things that might happen because I know that there will be some misunderstandings. And I hope that if we do have some problems I can only hope we can solve them without having a big fight. But even with my mate here and I know that I should feel complete with her here but for some reason I can't. There is this hole inside that I don't know what is missing. I thought it was because my mate is not here with me but even though I'm with her I still have the same feeling. And the weird thing is I've been feeling it only a couple of days ago.

"At least you finally came down from your room. I have been waiting for you to come down for hours."

CRASH

I stood up so fast that the stool I was sitting on fell to the floor and I got in my fighting stance ready to fight whoever snuck up on me. And nobody should have been able to get past my excellent hearing since I'm an alpha but if they have alpha blood in them maybe.

"Hey I'm not going to fight you so you can stand up straight now." They said without patience in their tone.

When I got up from my fighting position I saw Soledad, her face impassive like always. I saw that she still had on her black gloves that she never takes off. And the rest of her clothes consisted of black clothing almost impossible for me to see her in the shadows that the kitchen provided. And just like now she seems so mysterious, like you never really know if she's there even if she is standing right in front of you. Even at school I don't even see her and we have some classes together but they are big classes the ones we do have but I should still be able to see her or even catch a glimpse but I still don't see her and its not like I try really. With all the work I had to do I always forgot about her.

"Did you have to scare me like that?" I asked.

"If you weren't so occupied with your thoughts then I probably wouldn't have been able to come up behind you without you knowing." She explained. Which she might be right. I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I didn't really try to listen since I thought that everybody was already asleep.

But I guess not everybody was asleep like I originally thought.

"I have to talk to you." Her face quickly switched to a serious one.
Her quick change of mood made me start to have a feeling of dread crawling through my stomach. " It's about your mate." And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.

"What does it have to do with my mate?" Worry seeping into my words.
I couldn't image anything happening to her especially if it involves her dying because I would not know how to go on without her. Ever since I found her I can't imagine myself without her or with anybody else. But Soledad just stood there waiting on something to happen but I guess she she didn't get what she wanted.
