First Night: Awakening
Crimson blood stained the fabric of the carpet, its beautiful hue surreal against the dark void. Fragments of glass scattered around the room, resulting from the broken window. Two blood red eyes gleamed dangerously in the dark, its lithe body hunched against one of the four corners of the room. Its arms held a corpse, two fang marks visible on its neck. The vampire opened its mouth, its fangs protruding from its lips, blood dribbling down its chin. It turned to face her, making her its next prey...
She arose abruptly from the sanctuary of her warm bed, eyes squinting from the amount of sunlight streaming from the windows. She shielded her eyes with one of her hands and tossed aside the mess of tangled silk blankets and strewn cotton pillows. She clutched her head, mind still spinning from the distant dream.
It all seemed so real...
She shook her head free of any wayward thoughts and carefully made her way towards the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror; her black hair messed up as she blinked her obsidian eyes sleepily.
An image of a hunched creature with blood-red eyes and protruding fangs flashed briefly before her.
She let out a gasp and unconsciously tripped on a piece of cloth behind her, falling on her butt. What was that just now? She blinked her eyes shut and shook her head, arising stiffly from the cold tiled floor. Running her fingers through her black tresses, she went out of the restroom and picked up a piece of paper on her dresser. Her eyes drifted to a sheathed pistol on top of her drawer and unconsciously her fingers unsheathed it. She felt the cool metal against her skin, and put it back to its sheath with a sigh.
The mirror reflected the conviction in her steely eyes, and she clucked her tongue lowly. Parting her bangs with a hairpin, she put on an old hunting jacket and tucked the gun in one of its pockets.
The Hunter has awakened.

It was dark.
His blank eyes quietly stared into the pitch black darkness. His fingers slowly traced the wooden interior of the recesses of the coffin he was currently sleeping in, and he sharply inhaled the wooden scent that emanated from the mahogany coffin. Heaving a sigh, he pushed the lid open and stepped out into the dim atmosphere of the room he was sleeping in.
Heavy velvet curtains hung from the windows, carefully blocking out any light that may stream inside. Against his will, he pushed back the fabric, and squinted at the gentle rays of the morning dawn. A small smile flitted across his lips, as he absorbed the tranquil scenery unfolding before his very eyes.
That is... until the feeling of bloodlust hit him.
His eyes flashed red, and a burning sensation was working its way from his throat. He clutched the nearby wall to steady himself, his fingers leaving claw marks across the surface.
Fangs slowly protruded from his mouth and his eyes quickly caught sight of a young boy playing outside the room. His hungry eyes travelled from the boy's innocent face, down his cheekbones and just above the jugular vein. He could feel the blood pulse underneath the boy's skin, and his tongue flitted out slightly to dampen his lips.
Carefully shifting into bat form, he dashed out of the room and headed straight for its target.
The Beast has awakened.
