P R O L O G U E

Jeremy clung onto his mother like a puppy to his favourite toy, a bag with a zip, anything you can relate to that is clingy. Emerald green eyes were widened with uninvited fear, little whimpers escaping and echoing through the rather large pizzeria.
He didn't want to go to this party.

He didn't want to see his friends.

He didn't want to eat pizza.

He didn't want to see Mike.

Jeremy wanted to hug his mother, at home where it is warm and safe. Where nothing horrible can escape the world and happen to him.
Susan gave Jeremy a reassuring smile, just to let her son to know she will still be there. She isn't going anywhere, why would she leave her 5 year old child at a birthday party where accidents could possibly occur.

That's what Susan thought anyway.

The brunette woman gently pushed her son towards the other kids, who were running frantically around the party room. Part hats were scattered against the ground, and amongst the children were two young boys. One had blonde hair, pushed back behind a red bandana around his head. A plastic pirates hook set onto his hand, turning him into a child pirate.

Another one was a chubby red head, munching on a bag of potato chips. He wore thick, round glasses that were perched at the top of his nose. They seemed to be the leaders of the pack.
The pirate boy, Mike, raised his hook into the warm, stuffy air.
"Ahoy, fellow lads," he yelled out over the screams of young kids that were shouting around him.

Some of them gave out a reaction in return, but most of them continued to mess around.
Jeremy didn't like this at all. His brown poofy hair flopped over his emerald eyes as he glanced over his shoulder for his mother. He felt like crying when he saw Susan wasn't there. She seemed to have vanished, completely disappeared. The little brunette boy cried out for his loved member of his family, terrified to be left alone.

But soon his felt a harsh hand grab his skinny arm. Jeremy jumped, sudden contact frightening him. Whipping his head to face the one to caught him, he scanned his appearance. It was the same boy he saw with the hook, on the table, the leader. Mike.
Jeremy didn't want to see him.
"Why do you look so sad?" Mike asked him, but it more appeared like a scowl.

Jeremy started to feel tears well up in his eyes. He accepted the feeling and let them drip down his cheeks.
"I-I-" he tried to start off, snatching his arm from Mikes grip. "I-i want my m-mom!" The brunette squealed, letting the blonde laugh in his face. Mike shook his head, crossing his muscly arms.

"Pirates don't need their moms! Pirates don't cry either, you know why?" He paused a bit, inching forward and raising his shiny, but plastic, hook in front of Jeremy's delicate face.
"Because we're tough! Pirates are tough!" He pulled a toothy grin, revealing one tooth missing. Jeremy had to admit, he did kinda look like a pirate. But that didn't make him feel any better.

"B-but, I'm n-not a pirate!" Jeremy half growled, half cried. He wanted to go home, so badly he was starting to get sick. An unwelcome feeling welled up in his stomach, and he saw Mike looked at him weirdly.
"Oh!" Mikes mood perked up suddenly, grinning like a madman at his own idea. "Let's go see captain Foxy!" He announced, not waiting for Jeremy's answer.

The boy already had Jeremy by the arm, tugging him through the crowd of Pirates cove. Jeremy's shrill scream remained ignored and silent, as Mike continued to find the robot fox. Foxy was the one Jeremy hated the most. Because Jeremy hated danger, and not being safe. And Foxy has many sharp metal teeth, two sets actually, which were as pointy as needles. His hook wasn't any sharper than his teeth, and looked as if he could be slashed open with it.

Mike pushed the younger boy towards the animatronic first, before he himself jumped over the crowd. The red line painted with the sign do not cross was behind him, but in front of Jereny. Jeremy knew better, and hated to be anywhere near something so violent looking. So... Vicious.
Mike raised his hook, and grinned from ear to ear. "Ahoy!" He shouted out in front of Foxy, but of course the animatronic didn't have its own mind.

"A-Ahoy, m-m-me hearties!" The fox announced, as if responding to the child's shouts. Mike was still grinning from his growing excitement, being up close to his idol. But Jeemy, no Jeremy wanted to go home. Pushing past the crowd, he scanned the pizzeria frantically for his mother.
"Hey!" Jeremy's head whipped around as soon as he heard a man shouting. But it was to Mike, too close to the robot.

"Excuse me, little boy. You aren't supposed to be that close to Foxy!" He had a worried tone in his voice, as he quickly padded towards the pirate boy. The security guard warned him about the red line, but Mike continued to ignore him. The boy took another step closer to Foxy, the other children behind him watched curiously. Mike was now directly under Foxys snout as the robot continued to sing and perform on stage with a stuttering voice.

Jeremy was horrified, and frozen to the spot. Why isn't the guard doing anything? But staring at the security, Jeremy could see intense worry and the mans face starting to heat up. His eyes became shy and were glistening with tears that were soon to escape. Jeremy felt sorry for the man.
"Hey Foxy!" Mike shouted, the animatronic slowly tilted his head to the boy. Something wrong with his glowing eyes, that Mike couldn't see.

"You're my hero, Foxy." He began, "my number o-"
His sentence wasn't finished.
Because on Mikes head, were too incredibly large jaws clamped together near the front of his brain. Blood pouring from his head, Jeremy and the guard in complete horror.
The guard burst into tears which he held through the entire session of trying to get the boy of the stage.

Jeremy, he was paralysed on the spot, in absolute shock.
All the children in the crowd screamed frantically and ran back to their parents, which left as soon as they heard about the accident. Jeremy was collected by his mother quickly, and carried towards the waiting car.

He still didn't feel safe, not anymore anyway.
