I can see excitement in Jin Ah's eyes. I just don't think that she feels it. Her mind is clouded with fear, but her eyes reveal her past self. The child who wanted to go outside. Who wanted to play in the snow. Who wasn't afraid of the big bad world.
"Where is the trail?" Jin Ah asks. "It's just past a few trees." I say. She gives me a look that packs a facepalm without even facepalming. "This is a forest just in case you didn't know!" She says. "How many is a few anyway?" "Jini-ya! Too many questions!" I say. "O!" She exclaims, I guess surprised that I said Jini-ya. It's not that hard, it's not even two words. "Ok." I say, pointing way down the path to the destination. "The journey?! We already had the journ...nevermind, lead the way." She says. I can tell that she wanted to curse at me, but she pushed it down her throat. "Ok." I smile at her and bend my back just a little to level with her height. "I really appreciate your endurance. I know it's way out of your comfort zone. Trust me, the view is breathtaking down the path. It's totally worth it." I say. "It better be. And...your welcome." She says, a tiny alteration in her facial muscles vaguely represent a smile...I think?
I really hope she likes this. It will be so embarrassing if she doesn't.
