I find myself next to this familiar boy, his hair's ruffled and black, his red leather jacket and green eyes captures my heart. He feels familiar, he looks familiar, and the scene looks familiar, but I think nothing of it. After all, when you're in a dream, you believe you are part of the dream. At least, that's what I felt.
He turns to me and smiles. I could feel myself getting hot and nervous, I look away in embarrassment, trying to avoid eye contact. The boy smirks and stifles a laugh; I turn around, glaring jokingly. He stops laughing immediately and looks away. "Hmph!" I let out, as I turn back my attention towards the garden outside and beyond the balcony we stand on. Birds cry out and sing rhythms, songs, poetry, many of all. Flowers bloom from the mid-morning rain that had just came to greet us for the day. I smile and rest my elbows on the white railing, gazing deeply at the scene. I see the boy's face blocking my view, smiling and giving me mischievous eyes. I give him the same look, not looking away or no longer caring whether we were in eye contact or not. A few moments later, our battle is interrupted by a loud shout. "It's the princess!" We both turn to the garden and see a man dressed in black pointing at me, followed by five other men.
I gasp, sensing danger. The men run into the building's entrance below, guns ready. I started to panic, but before I could try to do anything, the boy urgently lifts me off my feet and carries me princess-style. I catch my breath in surprise as he stands up on the railing and leaps off, me in his arms. I scream crazily, holding onto him for dear life. I expect to crash onto the ground with the boy and have rough bruises and cuts on him and me, but miraculously, he lands swiftly. Feet on floor, me still in his arms. Me unaware, my jaw drops. "They're over there!" One man announced from the balcony where we left off. As he runs back in to the building to come back out to chase us, he mutters, "Geez! How did they get down there so fast?!"
The boy smirks before continuing to run through the garden, I still being carried. He doesn't seem to be bothered by my weight on his arms, which could've effected his speed in running, but it didn't. I stare at him with suspecting beady eyes as we go full speed through the garden, through the open gate, and through the world outside from my imprisonment at the castle. The ride was tolerable.
As soon as we lost the men, we stopped at a neighborhood. As the boy puts me down, I can see that he is panting in exhaustion from running so long. I give him a sympathetic look and say my thanks.
"What now?" I ask, worried. We were in no familiar place and we were lost. The boy looks up at me and answers,
"We can't ask anyone we don't know for help, or else they'll betray or report us, and we can't let that happen. We'll have to go in hiding." He says simply, swallowing hard. He leads me to some convenience store to buy some food and home supplies. As we come to the cashier, we set the things down at the counter for the man to check them. But as we were caught off guard, the man grinned crazily. And in a second, he stabs the boy's stomach with a knife. Blood was splattered on the ground and counter. I could feel some of it on my face. I scream in surprise as the boy falls to the ground, coughing up blood. I bend down beside him, holding him and worried. "Hey! Leo! Leo!!" I cry out to him as he starts to lose consciousness. At first, I was surprised at myself for knowing his name, but that didn't matter right now, He was going to die and I didn't know what to do. How horrible I am! I scold myself in my mind. The man grins as his other companions rush in, gun ready and pointed at me. Blood was piling on the ground, spreading and covering the floor with the dark red color. I stare, terrified at it, I shivered; knowing that I was trembling.
"Heh...should be escaping right now, Dream Princess..." He manages to say before blacking out. I scream as I clutch my head in agony. I see my past dreams that I had with him, my memories. They flash through my mind fast, so fast it becomes a blur. Tears stream down from my now blood red eyes.
And soon enough, the world became black.
