.....................Blake gave her shoes one last tug before looking at herself in the mirror.
She made up for her petite frame by wearing ankle breaking heels in the same electric blue colour as her dress.
Her dress clung to each and every curve she had. Though they were quite few.
Her deep brown straight hair fell till her chin.
She had put just enough make up.
The dinner party at Jade's house had given her a chance to get ready after months.
And she had made the most of this opportunity.
Jade was not only one of her best friends, Blake was also her editor.
So they worked hard together, and partied even harder.
Today's dinner party at Jade's apartment was to celebrate her return from her honeymoon with her husband Alec Carter.
As Blake finished putting the final touches to her hair, she smiled.
She was really happy that Jade was finally settled with a guy she loved and who loved her back even more.
It meant that she had at last left her habit of jumping from one guy to the next.
Alec was a good guy, even though he had made her seriously doubt that by the way he had behaved a few weeks back.
Blake shook her head, Jade was happy and that was all that mattered.
She picked up the small silver bag she had kept on the bed and left her apartment.
Party time!
..................
Matt nervously stood out side the door to Jade's apartment. This was the first time he was going to meet Jade after the wedding.
And to say that it was going to be difficult would be an understatement.
Suck it up, Matt!
He rang the bell and waited for someone to open it.
The door was pulled open and there stood Jade. Looking beautiful and tanned in a white summer dress.
"Hi Matt!" She exclaimed and hugged him.
Her scent enveloped him as he hugged her back.
It was difficult to see her, but the happiness that could be clearly seen on her face somehow made it better.
"You look lovely, Jade." He said once they moved away.
Jade took his hand and pulled him into the apartment, "Thanks! Now come in! You're the last one to arrive. Everyone is already here."
Some of the best friends Matt had made over the few years he had spent in Millbrooke were in the living room with glasses in their hands.
Nicole Bradshaw was sitting on the sofa with a glass of red wine in her hand. When she saw him enter she gave a huge smile which made her eyes twinkle.
She was the mother of the notorious twins, Nadia and Noah, who were Matt's most faithful patients and who came to the clinic every week with cuts, scrapes and broken bones.
