I rushed around my apratment in a frantic state. Wiping down the counters for a second time in the last five minutes. My eyes locked on the dark wood of my front door. My mind repeating the same thought since Corey had dropped me off last night. "Was this a mistake?"
I remembered how Corey refused to make eye contact with me as we stood outside my door. A small peck on my cheek was all I received from him before he walked away from me leaving me alone with my thoughts. The scene of Corey yelling at me after I shut the passenger door to his car last night repeatedly playing out in my head. Asking me who the hell Harry was. I stayed silent, picking at my nails before he sighed and started for my apartment.
The sound of loud knocks broke me from my thoughts. My hands smoothed down my dress before I rounded the marble countertop and made my way towards the wooden barrier that seperated me from Harry, inhaling a deep breath before slowly opening the door.
A small smile spreading across my face at the sight of Harry stood in front of me. A bright blue beanie adorning his head, only allowing me to see a few of his dark curls. He wore a loose fitted, black hanley that showed the smooth tanned skin of his chest along with the tops of the birds that were tattooed on his chest. Dark skinny jeans hugged his legs, brown boots on his feet. When I finally looked up into his eyes they were the same emerald color that I saw everytime I closed my eyes. Except that light they used to hold was no longer there. They didn't seem as bright, more dull than anything.
Harry cleared his throat casuing my cheeks to flush a light shade of pink before I moved aside geasturing for him to enter. My throat dry, no words being able to esacpe my mouth. I stood still by my door as I watched Harry slip his black parka from his shoulders, placing the thick material on the back of one of my armchairs that sat in my living area. I snapped my head down to look at my hands when Harry's gaze landed on me. Slowly making my way into the open space of my apartment as Harry took in his surroundings. His eyes staying locked on the cream colored couch sat a few feet away from him a few seconds longer. As if he was replaying all the nights we spent cuddled up together through his mind. Just as I did every day.
"Would you like something to drink?" I finally asked, walking around the countertop that split the huge open space of my apartment into the kitchen and living area.
Opening my frigde, my hands rummaging aound to find the glass bottle I had bought earlier that day. I had allowed myself to a glass or two hours before I finally forced myself to get ready. I turned around, grasping the bottle tightly in my hand to see Harry observing my every move.
I held the bottle higher, smirk plastered on my face. Harry rose his eyebrows.
"Want some?" I wiggled the glass bottle in the air, it's dark contents sloshing around. He smirked giving me my answer. I quickly recieved two glasses from my cupboards before walking over to the couch. Placing the glasses down on the coffee table before pouring the wine into each glass; mine with a bit more of the liquid than Harry's.
Harry sat down beside me, picking up his glass and taking a sip from it.
"Didn't think you'd show up." I finally spoke.
I saw Harry turn to face me, but I made no move to look at him, instead keeping my gaze locked ahead of me on the blank television screen. His eyes trailed down my body down to the black heels that adorned my feet.
"You look absolutely stunning El." he breathed out.
I shut my eyes taking in a deep breath. My pluse quickening with his words, as it always had before when he'd compliment me. When I finally opened my eyes I focused on Harry's hands. The silver metal rings that he wore on several of his fingers were something new to me.
"I like your rings." my voice was quiet and shaky as I spoke.
Raising my glass to my lips to look over at Harry who was doing the same. Both of us acknowledging the fact the other was avoiding the others comment. We both sat in silence, drinking our wine, glancing at one another. The silence was peaceful. My mind was at rest while I was in Harry's presence. My presence having the same affect on him. The words left unspoken; understood.
"So, tell me again why you invited me to come over?" Harry asked setting his now empty glass on the table, and leaning back on the couch.
"I don't know." I answered honestly. "I don't know." I repeated shaking my head.
Why had I invited Harry over? Harry sat up right, scooting closer to me.
"El." he started. I waited for him to finish quietly. "I'm sorry." he finally breathed out. His head falling into his hands.
I stayed silent. Everything coming back to me about that night. The emotions I felt, the heartbreak, the tears. The ache and emptiness I felt day after day without Harry. How could he just walk out?
"You asshole!" I finally broke the silence, standing to my feet. Harry's head shot up, his eyes glassy. "You left! You walked out! You didn't even try Harry! You gave up!" I shouted, tears streaming down my face. All the anger I felt towards him finally escaping me. "I loved you!" I yelled.
"I loved you too El-"
"Then why did you do it?" my voice was shaky.
"I was drunk El, it meant nothing to me. You have to understand-"
"No, no why did you give up?" Harry's face was full of worry, confusion and guilt. Tears threatening to spill. He shook his head.
"I thought you didn't want anything to do with me." his voice cracked. The tears finally spilling and rolling down his flushed cheeks.
"You idiot. Of course I did." my head dropped. Harry stood to his feet, taking a step forward to close the space between us.
"What did I do?" he whsipered to himself. The pad of his thumb caught another tear that had escaped my eye. "I'm so sorry El. I truly am."
My hands gripped onto Harry's wrists. His head fell to my shoulder, his slow breathing calming me. My hands falling to hold onto his back. His hands gripping my hips. Our breathing slowing and the tears fading. My phone went off. I looked over Harry's shoulder to see it laid on the counter across the room, neither one of uus making any move to seprate from one another. The closness of each others bodies, being able to share each others body heat was somehting both of us missed. Finally the person calling my phone hung up the room falling silent once again. I inhaled the smell of Harry's cologne. My phone went off once again casuing me to groan and bury my face in Harry's chest.
"Maybe you should get that." he chuckled. I pulled away from him to see a small smile teasing his lips. I nodded and stumbled over to where my phone sat picking it up and answering it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, babe." Corey's voice sounded through the speaker. I turned my back towards Harry facing the kitchen.
"Oh, hey." My voice was quiet.
"Mind if I come over?" My eyes widened and I quickly thought of a excuse.
"Oh, I have a few friends over right now." I spoke turning to see Harry sat on the couch looking at me curiously.
"Oh, alright. I'll talk to you later then?"
"Yeah... bye." I quickly ended the call, sighing and running my hands through my hair.
"Do I need to leave?" Harry questioned. I spun in my spot.
"No!" I shook my head. Harry's eyes widened. "Sorry, no." I added quieter. He smiled at me and patted the spot next to him on the cream couch. I slowly walked over to him and sat down next to him, crossing my legs.

Eliza and I were sat on her small couch an episode of the Graham Norton Show playing on the television. Eliza's legs were laid across my lap, my hands rubbing her soft pale skin of her shin. I looked over at her. Her hair pulled up in a messy bun, make-up removed and a small t-shirt adorning her torso. In that moment I forgot about Maya, and Corey and Eliza and I's problems. Everything fading to the back on my mind as I leaned in and smashed my lips against her soft pink ones.
She responded quickly moving her lips against mine. They were just how I remembered them. I was shocked to say the least when I felt her tounge run across my bottom lip but I didn't hesitate to part my lips allowing her soft tounge to collide with mine. Her hands slidding through my hair, tugging on them gently causing a soft moan to escape my lips only to be caught by her tounge. She slowly pulled away. Panting and holding her hand over her heart. My chest rose and fell qucikly.
Eliza was the only one who could make my skin feel on fire when she kissed me. No mater how hard I tired to make the feeling come when Maya kissed me it would never come, leaving me disappointed.
"I'm sorry." I apologized feeling guilty. She shook her head raising her hand for me to stop.
"No need." I was slightly surpised to see a smile on her lips.
"What-" she cut me off before I had the chance to ask.
"Harry, I know you don't regret kissing me. And I don't regret kissing you back." she explained. Smile still present on her lips. I couldn't help but smirk at her. She knew me all to well. I looked at my phone for the first time since arriving at Eliza's. Five messages from Maya in my inbox and a missed call form Niall. It was already eleven.
"You gotta go?" Eliza asked from across the couch. I nodded.
"I should get back home." I slid my phone into my back pocket and stood to my feet. Eliza followed suit folding the blanket she had draped over her, up and placing it neatly on the arm of the couch. I smirked and shook my head at her before walking over to the chair my coat was laid on.
"I'll see you, yeah?" I asked looking back at her. She nodded with a smile. I smiled abck at her picking up my coat. I was about to turn to walk towards her door when I felt Eliza grip onto my arm causing me to turn and look at her.
"Thank you for coming, Harry." she whispered. I flashed her a smile leaning in and planting a kiss to the corner of her mouth before retreating and walking backwards towards the door.
"Goodnight Eliza."
"Goodnight Harry." her eyes held that glint they had always had when we were together. Something they were in lack of the night before and in the start of the night. And when I shut the door behind me I knew it wouldn't be that last time I was leaving her apartment with the feel of her lips on mine.
