Book I. Winter. (Ch. 1)

Cattelaya and Orchid..

The people around the world were spreading the news that the current Avatar has past away from old age. The Monks knew that they had to search for the new Avatar, they knew that the new Avatar would be born an Air Nomad. They gathered together and began their search.

At The Southern Air Temple around dawn. A young woman was giving birth to twin girls. Nurses rushed around and made sure that the lady has a successful birth. As the lady pushed, her first baby girl came out. She was named Cattelaya. The nurses cleaned her off and held her as the lady tries to give birth to her other daughter. Five minutes later, finally she was successful, and her second baby was born. This baby was named Orchid. The nurses cleaned Baby Orchid off and paused when they noticed something about Baby Orchid. One of the was ordered to make a call and the lady was worried. She asked whats wrong with her baby. And a nurse turn to the woman and told her that she just gave birth to the Avatar. The woman was so shocked that she ordered to see Baby Orchid. They hander her to the woman and she saw the Air Symbol marked on the center of her forehead. Water Symbol marked on her right arm. Fire Symbol on her chest and the Earth Symbol on her left leg. The lady felt proud that her daughter was chosen to be the Avatar.

A month later, the woman got a visit from the monks and they wanted to see for themselves that this child is truly the Avatar. The introduced herself as Willow and then Cattelaya and Orchid's dad, Dakota, A water Bender who met Willow on his travels with his friends. They visit the air temple for fresh food and it was like love at first sight, from then, he continued to visit Willow when ever he could. He brought Baby Orchid to them. The monks checked to see if her Air marking was real, then they checked where her other markings were and they knew that baby Orchid was the Avatar. The monks told people that the New Avatar is born but didn't give away Baby Orchid's identity. Word spread quickly about the birth of the Avatar, people were excited and curious to see who would be their next savior of the world. Both Willow and Dakota are both Air and Water Bending Masters and they knew that they can teach their daughters how to master Air and Water. They were excited and to be teaching their daughters.

At age five. Willow and Dakota decided that this is the perfect time to teach their daughters how to master their bending. They started each morning with breakfast, meditation for 1 1/2 hours, then teaching them air bending moves. It took them a couple of weeks but they got the hang of the routine and they eventually started to bend. Cattelaya was a water bender like her father and Orchid was Air. Willow and Dakota noticed that whenever Orchid bends air, her Air Symbol marking glows. They wonder if her other markings does the same when she bends a specific element.

By Age Ten, Orchid was learning to get in touch with her spiritual side and Cattelaya was learning how to heal injuries with her water bending. Orchid and her mother sat in their meditation area in their back yard and meditating. Orchid was having trouble focusing and getting in tune with her spiritual side. "Mom. I can't do it." Orchid told her mother with a huff. Orchid was getting bored and restless. Her mother said nothing, her mother was in the spirit world. "Mom?" Orchid called out again and still nothing. Orchid snickered and tried to sneak off until her mother's spirit popped up in front oh of her. "Sit down Orchid and give it another try." Her mother sternly said. "But mom it's too hard." Orchid cried out. "No one said it was easy Orchid, but to do it, you first have to try it." Orchid pouted and sat back down and gave it another try. Orchid really wanted to go into the spirit world but she didn't have the patience for the time it took to finally get into the spirit world. As much as Orchid wanted to leave, she knew she couldn't until she learns how to enter the spirit world. So she sat there and tried again, and this time she tried to concentrate. Orchid breath steadily and focused, keeping her eyes close, she did her best to ignore any distractions. Minutes later Orchid entered the spirit world and saw her mother waiting under a tree for her. Orchid was amazed by the spirit world, it was colorful and peaceful. It was also filled with cute animal spirits. "Took you long enough." Willow joked to young Orchid. "Welcome to the spirit world, let me show you around."
