Ever since Anne dissed me the other day, I've not been myself. I didn't even have the courage to call her afterwards. Some voice is my head was just saying that she used the phone-call-gotta-go trick as a cheap excuse to leave me. I had believed that until someone called. The phone had rang twice before I got there. It just started ringing the third time when I picked up the phone. The number was not saved. Who was it?
"Hello. John on the line." I said
"Hey, its me Anne. Sorry I didn't call. I accidentally erased your number from my house phone. This is my mobile number. I'm not sure you have it. Its easier to reach me with it."
I smiled when she said this."Oh. Okay. And sorry I didn't call too. And thanks for the lunch date. Wasn't what I was expecting but it was a little fun." I replied.
"That. That was nothing. We're having a re-do and this time it's going to be at your apartment. You're going to cook for me. And we're going to have a nice time." She said in such a happy tone.
"Alright. Lets see Tuesday night. Will you be free by then?"
"Yes. I would be. Tuesday then." She said
"Alright. I'll text you the address and time. Thanks."
"You're welcome." She ended. After the conversation I tossed my phone over to the couch and dived into my bed in happiness. I was filled with joy. "I'm beginning to get a hang of this date thing." I said to myself.
My apartment was small. My parents had gotten it for me after I finished college. It had a sitting room. One and a half bathrooms. Two rooms and one kitchen. It was a very simple house. But I was having problem maintaining. Tuesday was just a day away, so I decided to clean up my apartment. I swept the sitting room and cleaned the kitchen, arranged the plates in order, cleaned the furniture and arranged the rooms. After 4 hours of rigorous work; I was finally done.
