There was no one in sight. Kiyoko tried as quietly as possible to get away from her parents. They never understood her, and they never would. No one ever cared about lonely Kiyoko. As she stepped quietly through the dark forest, she looked at her trembling, bloody hands. Her parents abused her, and her sister would continuously bully her. Kiyoko found peace in her little corner. She called it Quiet Dreams. She'd be able to just sit there, and dream about a life she wished she had, and that would give her some sort of small hope, that one day, maybe, it could be.
For example, yesterday, she came home from school, remembering the horrid names being called out to her, crying. She headed to her corner, and her brother and came by, smirking, "Hey, snot. Why you cryin’? Get a life, idiot." She tried to ignore it all, and just try to think positive, but she couldn't take it anymore.
She stopped walking now, taking all these hatred feelings and soaking them in. She felt the cool rain dropping little by little on her face as she stared at the sky, often blinking, her own reflexes to keep her eyes safe from the plops of rain. She looked down again, at the floor, and dropped. Her bare knees in the muddy earth. She wanted to disappear. It wasn't fair. By now the rain became stronger and was falling mercilessly on her. She slowly stood up and reached the nearest refuge; an old, worn out tree. "Kiyoko, control yourself. Everything will get better" ran through her mind several times, but as many times as she thought it, the more it left, and the more she lost the feeling of hope deep inside. She just lay down, ignoring the cruel water on her face, and forced herself to sleep and forget about everything. Happy place now.
But she was nowhere near her happy place now.
