Chapter 23
Prom (Part 1)
After school, me, Olivia, Ingrid and Erica went shopping for our fabulous dresses for the prom tonight. Olivia parked her car in the car park with all the other cars at the mall. The four of us walked inside the mall and began to explore. We all saw a professional hair and beauty store and walked in and had a look.
"So, Lydia, what are you planning for your go-to make-up and hair to impress Myles?" says Ingrid, teasing me as the other girls laughed with her.
"Ugh, I don't know," I said. "I'm not really an expert in make-up and all," I tell them.
"Hmm, let's see," says Ingrid as she starts to mess around with my hair and face, tilting it side ways and looking at the two sides of my face. "What do you think girls? Smoky-look, sexy-look, the wet-look, glossy, fab or girly?" says Ingrid.
"To be honest, I actually think natural is nice on Lydia," says Erica as they all smiled and agreed.
"Natural? Natural it is!" I say. It doesn't sound too exposed and too much so, I think its perfect for the night.
I finally got my make-up done and hair. As the lady in the store finished, everyone else did too. We all stood from our seats and took a look at our faces in the mirror. Our faces were pure with happiness and laughter.
"Wow," says Olivia, as she saw me from the reflection then turned to face me, "you look beautiful, Lydia." she tells me.
I smiled, "Thanks, Olivia. You too. You all do. Now, lets go get our dresses." I tell them.
We walked into a beautiful shop, they were displaying such beautiful dresses, prefect for a fancy prom night.
We all separated and tried on dresses. I picked a beautiful dress. I thought it suited my make-up and hair. I then chose a perfect shoes, it was a shiny matte color. It was perfect with the dress. I went inside the fitting room and closed the curtains. I slowly closed the zip, gently as it reached to the end of the zip. I put the shoes I chose.
"Lydia, are you done?" I heard Erica's voice as they were all walking about as I could hear their hells tapping on the floor. I drew the curtains and came out of the fitting room. I looked up as I saw my reflection. I looked...different. Like it wasn't actually me who is standing right there in my reflection. The girls gasped. Their jaws were about to drop, Ingrid held my hand and I faced her. "Wow. Lydia, you are gorgeous. Myles is a lucky guy." she smiles and hugs me. "Thanks, Ingrid." I say to her.
"Wow, Olivia! Your dress is so wonderful. It really looks pretty on you." I tell my best friend. "Thank you, bestie, you looks more wonderful!" she tells me and I hug her.
"You look stunning, Erica. What stunning girl with a beautiful heart, too." I say to her. She smiles, "Who's your date?" I asked her.
She blushes, "Yeah, you never told us who you're going with." says Olivia. "Its Connor. I've liked him since freshman and he asked me to prom the other day." she tells us. We all fangirled, screaming and cheering for Erica. We were all happy for each other.
"So, I'm obviously going with-"
"Kai!" me and Ingrid, interrupted Olivia. Her eyes widened and laughed. "Oh my god, wow!" says Olivia.
"We all know you had that connection with him," I tell Olivia, Ingrid nods.
"Ugh, whatever, let's go pay for these." says Olivia as we all payed for our dresses and shoes and jewelries too.
Ingrid said she has booked a limo for the four of us. I still can't believe why she needed to book a limo when we could just go in Olivia's car.
"Its because we need this night to be a night to remember. And make lots of memories." says Ingrid. The girls agreed, and so did I.
We all got to Ingrid's house and got our outfits ready. We all went downstairs in the living room. My Dad and Ingrid's Dad became close friends. Erica's parents and Olivia's parents. They all had a smile on their faces. For some reason Jackson was there.
"Wow. Honey, you look beautiful." says Olivia's Mom to me. I smiled, "Thank you so much." I say to her and her husband. I walked up to Jackson. "Why are you here?" I asked Jackson, he was wearing a suite, fancy tie, tuxedo, white polo shirt, black pants and shoes.
"I'm here for Ingrid." says Jackson. "Oh," I said. Ingrid hugged and kissed Jackson on the cheek.
"Oh, you know each other, right? This is Jackson, I asked him to prom last week when he was around school," says Ingrid.
"Oh, you two met, aye?" I said, "That's good, you two look adorable. So, are we going?" I asked.
"After the pictures!" says Ingrid. "C'mon, Lydia."
We all took a group photo, first was the families then friends then the four girls, which was me, Olivia, Ingrid and Erica. We all smiled brightly and then the four of us hopped inside the limo as soon as it came. I took my purse from the living room. I went pass a mirror, and looked at myself, thinking, I wish Mom was here to see this and be with me.
I smiled and went. I jumped into the limo and the four of us waved at our parents. Jackson was behind us with his police car. His lights were off and so was his siren.
We were all on our way to the school building.
