Boom! The thunder rattled your windows. You hated thunder. Everything about it. The loud sounds, the hard rain, the streaks of lighting, and the chance of the power going out was not for you. You didn't want to annoy Grayson like every other time (mind you it was common for storms were you lived). You wanted to try it on your own so he didn't get annoyed. To say the least it wasn't working for you.

You had tried everything. Texting friends: no answer. Listening to music: couldn't concentrate. Read a book: didn't have any good ones. Take a nap: couldn't sleep in fear you would wake up in the dark. You wanted to text Grayson so badly but you had to try to do it on your own. Bam! It shook. Within seconds the power was off in your room. Great. The door was shut and you had no one.

You had been sittin in the dark crying for 10 minutes when you hear your door open and close and someone run up the stairs. Great this is it. You thought. Someone came into your room and said your name. "Sammy?" They asked. You couldn't tell who it was between your sons and tears. "Baby it's just me. " he said. Relief washed through your body. He turned his phone flashlight on to see you curled up and tears everywhere. "Why didn't you call or text me?" He asked. " I I I wanted to do it on on my own" you hiccuped. "Baby girl come on. You don't need to you have me" he said and sat down in your bed he picked you up and put you in his lap and put the blankets over you too. "I didn't want you to get annoyed" you whispered embarrassed.

"Sammy baby look at me. I'm never going to get annoyed. No matter what ok? When your scared I wanna protect you and let you feel safe. Call me or text me next time. I'll be here for you. And anyways I get to cuddle with you so it's a win win" he said and smiled. "I do feel protected with you" you said and hid your face blushing. "Good baby girl. You should I'm your prince your my princess " he said and kissed your lips.
