📎AN: Cody in the picture, isn't he cute? Played by Jesse Spencer... I think. The guy from house MD or whatever.

Austin's POV:

"Sorry, what?" I stood, mid step, staring at Cody. Cody smiled evilly at me.

"That. What you just did. Big mistake." I scowled, crossing my arms.

"How so? What's that supposed to mean?" He smirked, the dimples in his cheek on full display.

"Isn't it obvious? Derek is jealous! And sawyer is too possessive! Sleeping with Derek is going to piss off Sawyer. And then you're going to run back to Sawyer and then Derek will do the same thing he's done since you were kids."

"Im not following... What did he do?" Cody rolled his eyes like it was obvious.

"And people think I'm the clueless one! He's going to manipulate you like always. You make it too easy for him!" I scowled.

"Derek isn't like that-"

"Oh yes he is! And it's gotten worse since he is so obviously in love with you..." Finally having completely enough of his shenanigans, I interjected.

"Fuck you Cody! Where's Oliver to push you around Hu?" He didn't stop smirking, in fact, he smiled at me.

"He's at work. Like always. If I were you, I'd make my decision on which delicious Riverstone brother I want every night, soon." I glared him down, before he giggled and ran into his room. What a weird boy. I continued on my way, marching over to the door in an attempt to find Sawyer. before I was stopped, once again, by Derek.

"Where are you going?" I turned, looking at him in bewilderment. Was it true he was jealous? Had Derek always been manipulating me? Was he in love with me? No. "To find Sawyer." Derek scowled, his eyes darkening a shade. "Why? Give him some space Austin. Come and watch TV with me. It's our last opportunity before we have to go back to work." I groaned, he was right.

End of the weekend meant I had to go back to working in that stupid garage, fixing cars till God know's what hour! Less reluctantly this time, I stopped what I was doing and sat beside Derek on the sofa, deciding that me and Derek needed to chill for a bit.

**

Eight very scary hours later, and Sawyer still hadn't returned. We had managed to get through 7 horrors, two of which was Silent Hill. I don't like Silent Hill. It's doesn't live up to the expectations.

As much as I wanted to relax and focus solely on having fun with Derek I couldn't find it in me. I was too worried about where Sawyer had gone.

He was known for getting in to trouble, just for being him. And I know it's been four years, but the tabloids were covered in stories about him finally being released from the mental asylum. So it was any wonder why I'd be worried about where he'd gone.

"Stop worrying Austin. He'll be okay, you know him as well as I do." I nodded, standing up and stretching, relishing in the click of my bones after hours of being sat in the same position. A sudden urge for takeout took over, and I really needed a cigarette.

"Tell you what, it's what? Nine-ish? How about I go grab us some takeout? I need to get a new pack of cigarettes anyways..." Derek smiled from where he sat, closing his eyes and yawning.

"Sounds good... Let me grab my shoes and I'll come with." I nodded, striding over to the coat rack and grabbing my coat. "Ready?" I turned again to see Derek wrapped up in a scarf and black trench coat.

"Cold?" He smirked, rolling his eyes. We both left the apartment building, walking along the bustling street. It didn't take long till we arrived at the small newspaper stand where I bought a new pack.

We arrived at an Italian within twenty minutes, and ordered. "Austin, can I ask you something?" I nodded not really paying attention to him. "Do you think Sawyer really is... You know. Crazy?" I looked up quickly. What brought this on? I know we never really talked about it, we probably should have, thinking back on it now. But we were barely adults ourselves, I sure as fuck didn't know how to react.

"I don't know... I mean, you can't really go into a mental asylum when you're sane, right?" Derek nodded, contemplating what I had said. Another thought popped into my head, but I decided against voicing it in such a public space. Perhaps I should keep it to myself altogether.

"An order for a, Riverstone?" I jumped up, forgetting which one of us he called, grabbing the three brown bags before Derek strode over, apologizing to the man behind the counter for my eagerness, and grabbing two of the bags from me. "They owe us big time!" I cheered, smelling the aroma that wafted up at me when the cold autumn air hit us. Derek laughed at me.

Walking back whilst carrying food seemed like a better theory than in practice.

We made it back regardless however, and soon Derek was plating everyone some Italiano! What is it about a good bit of pasta that gets me so pumped?

When everyone had finally settled down to watching a film on Netflix, sawyer still hadn't shown up. It was approaching 11 and I was seriously beginning to go passed just being freaked out.

Derek yawned from behind me, snuggling in closer, just like old times. We'd always been close, I and Derek. His parents were never loving and I guess he needed that extra bit of nurture from someone he could trust.

I'd grown up with him always wanting to hold my hand and sleep in the same bed so I never thought anything of it. Until now. Especially since thoughts of Sawyer leaving just because Derek wanted him to stop kept popping up.

I mean, what was all that about? Why'd that family have to be so damn dramatic? Perhaps it was hereditary?

The movie ended shortly after my thoughts wandered off, and Oliver had already carried Cody into bed. Thinking about it, I was pretty tired myself. I voiced my thoughts to Derek who nodded, claiming he'd be inside in a bit.

I stalked off without him, doing my nightly routine before digging myself under the dark duvet. What felt like seconds later, Derek arrived, closing the door with a soft click behind him.

The street lights outside made it easier for me to make out his silhouette as he stripped, tiptoeing over to the side I was on. "And the little one said..." He whispered. I looked to the heavens, regardless of him not being able to see me, and rolled over.

I'd left the window and curtains opened so I could hear everything outside, and so an unnatural orange glow fell in waves around my room. "Derek..." He hummed in response. "You know your question earlier?" There was a short moment of silence that passed. I thought he'd fallen asleep, so I turned to face the other way. Seemingly out of nowhere however, arms stretched out, pulling me back into his solid chest.

My head fit into the crook of his neck, and all I could think was: I wish this was Sawyer. "Go on..." He breathed into my hair finally.

"Well... You don't have to answer. But, do you think Sawyer could ever... Hurt someone? Like for real? I mean, do you think he's innocent?" Another long pause passed, and this time I was sure he'd fallen asleep.

I too closed my eyes, part of me satisfied I didn't receive an answer as if I had, I'm not sure I'd want it. Not from his brother. Yet, just before I drifted off to sleep, I heard Derek say.

"I don't know... The girl said he was..." And therefore I never got any sleep that night.
