A cold feeling crept over me.
"But... but she is my mother. She can't be your mother." I stuttered out.
"She my mother not yours" Said Sam. A smirk over his bloody face.
He joined the pieces together. Evelyn's hate for Marcus, she leaving him alone with Marcus and horrifyingly that David and Evelyn had an affair.
"She never wanted to only disrupt the faction system. Did she? She wanted to control us. The divergent, that's why she didn't like Tris. This was their plan all along right? RIGHT?" My voice sounded distant and cold to myself.
"Exactly. Until that little girl of yours pressed the button. You see that was never supposed to happen. Evelyn was going to send the message to David, about her control over the city and one by one all the divergent would have been transferred to the bureau to be tested." Sam said.
I was frozen. I felt nothing. Emptiness presided my insides and my ears buzzed.
"You said you loved me" Murmured Adrea. I knew this wasn't the topic right now. But I couldn't make myself speak.
Sam looked up his ear twitched. "Love. I love you."
"Then why did you never tell me that I had a sister?" Adrea looked up at him ruefully and slipped away in the darkness. That seemed to wake me up and I ran after her. Forgetting about the half dead murderer.
