Chapter 2

My eyes fluttered open after what seemed like forever. My head was pounding, and I was extremely tired. What the hell?

I yawned and sat up, squinting after I noticed my surroundings. It was beautiful, with golden walls, crystal windows, and a marble floor. I glanced down to see my body dressed in a red shrug, the soft mattress of the king sized bed I was resting on relaxing me. "Damn vampires" I cursed, running a hand through my knotted hair.

I can tell you that I've been to hell and back, but this was honestly the cherry on top.
Not. I sighed and swung myself off the bed, stumbling before running into something cold.

"Careful" a deep, husky sound grumbled. I looked up to see the one and only, King of the bloodsuckers. I immiadiately stumbled back and blushed, noticing his intensifying stare.

"How long have you been there?" sputtering, I took the time to check him out, raising an eyebrow at his disheveled clothing.

He grinned at me and I felt my heart do a flip, almost slapping myself in the face for my stupidity. I hate this already, I sighed , watching as he unbuttoned his shirt.

Wait. What the fvck?

"What are you doing?" I yelped, his eyes never breaking contact as he slipped off his shirt, revealing. a. six pack. "Damn" I thought, immediately looking away.

"To answer your question from before, all day. You've been asleep for a day" he replied, and I sighed in relief as I glanced upon him, noticing he now had a tight black shirt on.

"Like the view?" My head snapped up as he smirked at me, walking towards me.
I instinctively began backing away, now at the point where we were almost touching.
I placed my hands on his chest and his eyes flashed a royal purple,and thanks to studies, I knew that was the color for desire. I felt my cheeks redden as he leaned in, brushing his lips against my ear. I shut my eyes as I felt him whisper into my ear.

"For a bloodsucker, I can sure make a girl flush"

Feeling a disturbance in the currents of the air, my eyes snapped open, but it was too late. He was gone.

For most of the day I wandered around the palace, finding myself lost for words at many of the beautiful sights. My favourite was most definitely the garden.

I watched the beautiful flowers as they swayed gently in the wind, leaning out to touch the nearest purplish blue flower.

"I would say the flowers look awfully beautiful today, but not surprisingly, another sight took my breath away"

I retracted my hand as I felt Levi's hot gaze upon me, examining the clothing I was wearing, fit for a royal. "Thanks" I mumbled, now getting shy, something I wasn't used to doing. "Anise was quite nice, and she helped me get into clothing that would be appropriate for me to wear around the castle" .
"Oh really? Was the red nightgown not royal enough for you?" he said playfully, and I slowly raised my gaze to meet his.

While never in a million years would I call a vampire attractive, King Levi was the only one. His golden eyes displayed humour as his lean body relaxed against a nearby willow tree, his red highlights illuminating against his shiny blonde hair. I looked away when I realized that he hasn't stopped looking at me, and probably thought I was a freak.

"When the heck did I ever care about this kinda stuff?" I thought to myself, shaking my head.

Before you got a mate.

I sighed as my wolf reprimanded me, a gleeful tone to her voice.
"I don't think I needed one in the first place" I fired back to her, only to see Levi turn around, his eyes flashing blue.

As I have studied vampire 101, I remember recalling the most intruging color a vampires eyes could change. Not the shiny purple, the deep red, or even the grass green. It was very crystal, so very heartfelt, so very blue.

The color of sadness.
