Beach Day! (Artemis)

Happy Harbor 4:00 pm

My mom and I drive the streets of this new town to the beach. I grab my phone and plug in my ear buds. I feel nervous all of a sudden as I  see the beach. There are soo many people! As we get closer I realize that most of them are teenagers and, that there is a small cluster of adults at a small picknick area. I take out my earbuds and put my phone into my beach bag, "Artemis doesn't this place look amazing!" My mom asks.
"I guess, I mean yeah it's beautiful and, I would love to come back and paint this sometime but, there's just too much people." I say looking at the ocean.
"Oh come now. It's a great place to make friends." She says. We park and my mom gets off. I hesitate then my mom gives him me a look. I run my fingers through my newly dyed dark brown hair. I sigh and clutch my beach bag as I get off. Immeadiatly I hear music pound out and trace the sound waves back to a boombox next to the volleyball court. I put on a smile as I see a group of friends singing along. My mom walks over to the adults and leaves me there. I see a dark brown haired girl with dark brown eyes in a purple swimsuit wave for me to come. I bite my lip and just stare at her. She smiles and gets up and...oh no she's jogging towards me. Maybe it's not too late to get back into the car. I try to move but, I'm glued to the sand.
She finally reaches me, "hello my name is Rose Hathaway." She smiles brightly at me.
"Hi," I say shyly, "I'm um Artemis.
"Come let me introduce you to my friends." She says.
"Oh okay." I make eye contact with my mom. She nods her approval. I look forward with the sudden stop. The music changes to a more calm flow.
"This is Artemis." she says.
"Oh I'm Bailey Baxter." this girl has purple hair and purple eyes.
"Wait a second aren't you like the richest person in Happy Harbor?" I ask her.
She nods. "I'm Skyler Kent." Skyler has black hair dyed down to blue tips and matching dark blue eyes. "This is my brother Chase." she says. He waves at me. Chase however doesn't look super alike to her with ginger hair and hazel eyes.
"I'm Damian Drake." another boy with black sleek hair and blue eyes says.
"I'm Peter." a boy with brown hair and green eyes says. I have green eyes too!
"I'm Zander." Zander resembles Rose's features regardless of their different color hair and eyes, they must be siblings. Zander has blonde hair and bluish eyes.
"Wanna play volleyball with us?" Bailey asks me.
"Sure." I say.
"Bailey is on my side!" Skylar says.
"Aww thanks." she says. Rose starts singing and dancing along with a new song.
"I'm not playing. I hate it!" she says.
"Party pooper." Bailey says. Rose sticks out her tounge at her then starts laughing.
"And I'm not playing either. I suck at it!" Chase says.
Rose eyes sparkle as she laughs harder not taking Chase's mocking as an insult. She grabs his hand playfully. I can tell his shoulder tense up then they slowly relax. She drags him away with her to the beach. They start splashing each other. Man, if they're not ment for each other the world should start spinning right now. "Artemis c'mon!" Bailey shouts to me. I come over and our game begins.
