The twins sat on their respective pile of furs that night. Fang's back was to his brother while Felix watched his brother's back. He'd made up his mind to try and fix things between them but it seemed as if his twin had made up his mind to never speak to him again.
He'd been puzzling over the right thing to say or even how to start up a conversation with him. Fang was reading a story book and he seemed very engrossed in it such that he didn't even hear when Felix had shifted in his pile of furs, gotten up and walked over to him stopping a few feet away from him.
"Fang?" The sub stayed silent and unmoving. "I-I'm sorry." Fang rolled his eyes knowing his brother couldn't see. Sure, he may be sorry now but he knew better. His brother is a dominant and their egos are massive. If anyone defies that and doesn't cater to it, the dominants trip and usually it's the subs that pay for it. He's seen it happened before.
One time he was wandering around the cave and he'd heard a sound. He was curious so he went to investigate. That was one thing he regretted. He'd peeked around the corner and saw a sub with white blond hair lying on the ground pressed to the cave wall. He lay on his side and there were tears in his eyes. Standing over him was a dominant who was clearly upset about something. At first, Fang's naïve mind and his wolf told him it was the sub who'd displeased the dominant but after watching for longer than he wanted; he learnt then that the dominant's anger wasn't directed at the sub. It was Fang's father, the alpha. Apparently, they had a falling out and because the dominant couldn't exactly strike the alpha and live, he decided to take it out on a sub.
Following that, he'd seen more fights like that happen and very few times; the dominants' anger was directed at the sub. He figured sooner rather than later that dominants hurt subs just because they can and there would be no objection; just because they were smaller and weaker.
He knew that in time, Felix would become like that. His brother would be just like any other dominant that would either openly want others to worship the ground he walks on or secretly crave it. Then again, his brother could very well be the next alpha so no one, sub or dominant could really object.
"Can we go back to being friends? Back to brothers?" While knew his brother would eventually grow up to be like all dominants, they still had a while. He could still salvage his relationship with his brother. Looking over his shoulder at the dominant destined boy, he replayed his brother's words in his head.
"Okay; but don't want to be my friend only to hurt me again." Turning now to face his brother who stood nearly a full head taller than him, he met the dominant destined boy's eyes and extended a hand. They shook on the agreement.
"So when do you start school?" Felix asked scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
"Since its Wednesday, they said I'd be starting on Monday."

Monday...
Fang smiled to himself as he ran his fingers along the fabric of his new clothes; human clothes. His uncle had told him that the shirt he wore, the humans called it a hoodie and it's a dark blue colour. A very pretty colour in Fang's opinion. The hoodie was worn like a t-shirt and had strings attached to the hood and he wore black jeans and black and white sneakers.
He liked his attire a lot but he still preferred walking about in human form with only shorts on. It was more comfortable.
The sub boy adjusted the strap of his bag and headed out into the main chamber where his father, mother, uncles, grandparents and brother stood waiting. Steven smiled warmly as his youngest grandchild approached looking ready to head out on his first day of school.
