Chapter 16: Captured
Marshall's POV
It's taking forever for my food to get here. I guess that's what I get for saying bring me anything red.
Without moving my head, I glance over the room and see all the angry looking men staring at me. Most of them anyways. I watch how they're all chomping away at whatever it is they're eating. I'm cool with the stares, it's not like I'm not used to it. Until a guy says something.
"Hey, go ge' me 'nother beer." I dont think he's talking to me, so I just ignore it.
"Hey, di' you 'ere what I said?" This time, something was pressed into my back. I turn slightly and see a really big guy with a empty keg still pressed to my back.
"What?" I raise an eyebrow at him questionably.
"Get me 'nother beer, paste 'ace." Under normal circumstances, I would've killed him.... Close to it anyways. Or I would've hypnotized him to go do something.....well, I'll let your imagination run wild with that.
But, these aren't normal circumstances are they? I can't get arrested, that's just more time Fi is with that....Other. And the more she's gone, the more I worry about her.
So, I ignore the guy and watch as that waitress brings me a huge amount of red foods. I nod at the girl in thanks and she gives me a scared smile. She must know I'm a vampire.
"Waitress! Ano'her beer!" I drain the color out of a meatball and look at the girl. She has her arms full of the dirty dishes she's been picking up off tables. And looks around I'm desperation for someone. But I thought she was the only waitress?.....
"Coming!" I hear another voice from the kitchen and drink more red. I hear the doors fly open and watch as a blonde head moves over the top of the wall. (A high enough wall to keep people from seeing who goes in and out but still see a bit of the head.) I close my eyes until I feel her presence behind me. She clinks the kegs together as she picks them up and walks to the bar. I then open my eyes and watch her from behind. Her long hair trails behind her in a ponytail. I pick up another strawberry and drain the color. The girl turns back around and I nearly choke.
It's Fiona.
I know it's her.
You may be thinking, it can't be her. There is no way. But if it wasn't her, my undead heart wouldn't be beating and my palms wouldn't be sweaty.
"F-Fiona?" I say as she sets the mugs down. She looks up at me and smiles, giving me a questioning look with something flickering in her eyes.
"Yes?" I let a out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I knew it.
"Fi, i-it's me." She meshes her fingers together and looks even more confused.
"Um, I'm sorry. I really only know regular customers. Are you new around here?" She looks at me with a confused smile on her lips. Her lips.... No! Not now Marshall!
"Fiona, it's me. Marshall Lee." She frowns and shakes her head.
"As I told you before, I don't know you. Now please, let me work." I grab her wrist firmly so I don't hurt her.
"Why don't you know who I am?" I feel the eyes of all the men in the room on me. But I don't care.
I can hear the hurt in my voice, and she must've heard me because she turns back to face me. By now I can't take it anymore and I let her arm go. I wrap my arms around her neck and hug her, not caring about all the stares I feel burning in the back of my head. And sadly, i don't feel her arms around me too. I feel her jaw moving slightly, as though she's trying to talk with no sound.
I breathe in her hair, she smells a little different. But she still smells mainly the same. Suddenly, I feel a few sets of hands on my arms. They pry me from her and hold me up by my arms. I look at Fiona, not even bothering to look at my captors. She looks sadly confused. Two emotions that aren't normally together.
They turn me and are about to lead me down some stairs, before she mouths something. I turn my head back towards her and see her repeat it before they turn my head back forward.
I'm sorry?
Gumball's POV
I slowly sit up and stretch while yawning. This is my ritual when I wake up from a goodnights sleep. Wait, a goodnights sleep? I open my eyes and nearly let out a bad word.
It's nighttime and Marshall is no where to be seen.
I jump up and pick up my back pack before I notice a note falling to the ground. I snatch it up and try my best to decipher what is written on it.
"Thought you could use a bit more than a few minutes, so I went to that restaurant that's around here. I was hungry, meet up there when you wake up." I crumple the paper up in frustration and start towards the place I know he's talking about.
I walk in the doors and look around. I instantly see that I don't fit in at all, which frightens me. I walk right up to the first man I see and tap on his shoulder. He turns and I back up a step. He narrows his eyes and grunts at me.
"Wha' do you want." I swallow and put my hands in my pockets, scared that this brute will hurt me.
"U-uh, have you seen my....friend? He was here a bit earlier."
"Oh yeah? What 'id he look like?"
"Um... Pale, long black hair, tall...." As I am about to continue, the man grabs me by my shoulders.
"Your with 'hat guy then?! Eh!" He shouts to another man across the room. "This guy I' with the guy who was in here earlier!"
"Oh ye'h? Well, lets put 'im with his friend!" The first man tightens his grip on me and the other cracks his knuckles and grasps me as well. They force me over to a small trap door and force me down it with my arms behind my back.
Oh Marshall Lee, what have you gotten us into?
