Chapter 47

Nevaeh pov
It was early spring and I was walking through the garden with Titus. He was such a sweet boy. He was a bit self centered when it came to his arm. But I was slowly showing him he didn't need to hide it. I looked around at the garden, and the wall that surrounded part of it. Peak, Dean, Dimitri and Nikki were climbing the wall. I laughed under my breath. "What is it princess?" Titus asked. "Nothing, I was just watching Dimitri with his friends." I said pointing at them. Peak saw us and waved at us. "Want to talk to them?" Titus asked. "It's up to you if you want to." I said.

We went over to them. Peak lowered himself upside down. "Hello princess, hello Titus." He said as his face was turning red. "Hello Peak." I said. "Are you sure that's good for your health?" Titus asked. "Dimitri says this helps with the blood flow to my head." He turned right side up. "But no it's not." He said. "So what's up?" He asked. "Nothing much. Just going for a walk and enjoying today." "Well some of the boys are having a baseball game over there." He said point to the. Other end of the garden. "Maybe we'll go watch." I said to Titus. "Well we won't keep you from our climbing." We went towards the sound of some of the guys cheering.

We stood away from the game watching. I wasn't much into sports but watching the selected play baseball.
"Come on Nevy, come hit." Olen said. I hesitated. Before slipping my heels off. Luckily I'd worn white skinny jeans today. I went to the base and Achilles handed me the bat. "Do you know how to play?" He asked. "Pretty much. Pitcher throws the ball. If I miss three times I'm out but if i do I run to the bases before they get the ball to the base or to the pitcher. It doesn't seem that complicated." I said. "Okay, good luck." He said. Gage was the pitcher. I held the bat over my shoulder. Gage threw the ball, I swung but missed. "Strike one," Achilles said. Gage threw it again and I hit it. I dropped the bat and ran for first. "Safe," Levi said. I smiled. Rikki was up. He hit it on the first throw. It looked like it was going to go into the woods. So I made a run for the other bases. Apparently it didn't got all the way I thought it would. I made it to third. Couchy was up to bat. "Come on Couchy, get me home." I yelled. He smiled. And pointed strait to the woods. Showing he was going to hit a home run. I looked at Rikki and he had a cheater kinda grin on his face. Couchy hit the ball. And I froze. "Run Nevy." I looked at Peak on the wall. It snapped me back and I ran. Bailey came after me. Throwing it between him and Tye. They had cornered me between third and home. Tye came at me and I ran and slid under him and touched home plate. "Safe," Achilles said. He helped me up. And I whipped the grass off. My blouse and jeans had grass stains on them. The guys cheered for me.

Ashlyn pov
I was looking out the window at the garden. "Megan, Nevaeh is playing Baseball with the selected." I said. Megan, Ella, and mom got up and looked out the window with me. "She's safe." I said. "Let's go join them." Ella said. "We should." Mom said. We left and went to find our husbands. I dragged Jake away from his office to come play.

Megan pov
"Please Lucas, please come play baseball with us." I begged, I was sitting on his lap. " how badly do you want my to come play?" He asked. "Very." I said kissing him. "Fine," He gave in.

We went down to the garden. "Mom, dad, what's going on?" Nevaeh asked. "We wanted to come play with all of you if you don't mine." I said. "No not at all," she said. Dallas, Ella, Jake, Ashlyn, Maxon and america came out and joined us. Dimitri and his friends came down from where they were on the wall and also joined the game.

Dimitri pov
I was up to bat. I glared at Rikki who was pitching. He threw it and I swung. I hit it, and it was a foul. So I got another hit. This time it went strait towards the woods. I ran to first base. I tripped and was safe. My climbing prosthetics weren't made for running.

After the game and most of us were sore. I went back to my room to get my regular prosthetics on. It had been a lot of fun playing baseball. Started doing push-ups. I was still doing intense training for Everest. Nikki and my parents were constantly telling me I should take it easy but I didn't want to die on Everest. I was going to come back.
