I have never seen light. I have never even seen myself. All I've ever seen is darkness. One kind woman taught me everything I know. She taught me to read and speak and she fed me. But even then she never let me see the light. I remember asking her if I would ever get out. She told me that when the time comes I will be released. And to expect the unexpected. She said to not let the world taint me.

Then one day I heard one scream. Then lots of screaming. I gasped my eyes filling with tears. I've never heard a scream. I was never taught violence. I was never mistreated and I was also never shown pain. I have never felt pain. But now my heart aches, for the screams of pure agony and terror are piercing it.

Then after lots of loud bangs my door creaks open and I see a dim light. I feel a breeze. I take a deep breath knowing the time has come. I step out slowly, not knowing what the world will do to me. I take my first set onto the cool ground. I feel the grass beneath me. It feels so soft compared to the floor that I've been walking on all along. It was always too dark to even see my hands in front of me.

I hold my hands in front of me. They're so pale. Can't really expect much when I've been in the dark my whole life. I take another step and grin widely. Then I take off running. In what direction? Any direction.

I run and run and run until my legs can't take it much longer. I ran for half an hour, I guess I'm not quite in shape either. I sat in the grass panting heavily until my breathing went to normal. I laid in the grass watching the moon and felt the breeze pushing my hair every which way. I smiled, loving the tranquility of it all.

I closed my eyes slowly expecting to fall asleep immediately without any troubles. Until I heard leaves crunching and I snap my eyes back open. I back away quickly hoping it's not the men who caused all the screams of pure agony back where I used to live. I hear muffled voiced and hushed whispers.

I sit up and scoot away quickly hitting a tree. I close my eyes, shaking. I take in the sounds and noises around me concentrating on nothing in particular. I breathe in deeply smelling the earth. Taking it all in for, what could be, my last time ever.

I open my eyes next seeing wolves around me looking at me curiously. I look at them with an equal amount of curiosity then one of them..turns into a human?

I honestly don't know, one minute a wolf three times my size is in front of me, then a very handsome young man takes it's place.

I look down quickly not knowing what would be considered rude or what wouldn't be.

"Look at me." He demands in a voice that sends shivers down my spine. I obey and look up at him, pushing the hair out of my face. I look into his eyes and get a weird sensation running through me.

"Mine." He growls and grabs me shoving me behind him, shielding me from the other wolves. I hear an awful sound like flesh tearing and I close my eyes, whimpering.

It sounded very painful. I feel arms wrap around me, making me feel safe. I slowly open my eyes and look up through my eye lashes seeing him there holding me.

"What are you?" I whisper.

"That's what I should be asking you." He whispers to me.

"What do you mean?" I ask furrowing my eyebrows.

"Your scent was not like any I've ever smelt before. I have no clue what you are, but it's definitely not human." He mumbles.
