We sat there for a while. "What do you mean you don't know what to do?" Sam questioned. Simultaneously, a kid I recognized from my school ran quickly down the street and passed the building.
We all gave him our full attention. Not long after more kids appeared. They appeared to be chasing him. They soon got a hold of him and I balled my hands into fist as I knew what was coming. They began beating him up. Who knows what for.
I mean fights like this and worst happened daily around here but who cared. They soon stopped and ran away leaving the lean built boy on his own and limping down the streets...probably towards his home.
"Waney was home this morning, and she was pushing me to want to attend Everest High, she thinks I'll accomplish more there than at Wilston." I explained still looking at the streets far below us.
There was silence. "Everest High, that's ...wow," Nikki said more to herself. "You're not considering it are you!" Sam exploded.
All eyes on him. I sat between them so I got full blast of his voice. "I...I don't know, I don't want to but...what if," i sighed unable to finish.
"Why would you even think about leaving us at Wilston." He said before quickly standing and walking away. I watched as his form disappeared through the door.
"What's wrong with your brother?" I asked looking over to Nikki. "Did you hear yourself?" She asked.
"Yea but he didn't have to leave," anger rising.
"Carly it's Everest, you remember Claire right? She left Wilston when she moved to live with her mom and went to Everest. Have you ever seen her on this side of town again." She explained.
I simply shook my head. "The school changes you, Carly and Sam doesn't want to lose you, like how he lost Claire."
"I'm not Claire, you guys are the closest thing I could call family, I wouldn't forget you guys,"
We both stood up and stared at each other. I didn't realise the tears in my eyes before one slowly made it's way down my right cheek. I can't believe I'm actually agreeing to transfer. I hugged Nikki as she hugged me back and the tears flowed freely.
"I gotta go," I said releasing her. I need to get home before Nate and Nicho.
