Hi Grandad,
I think I just not only shocked my family, but I shocked myself.
I fell asleep for half the day yesterday, my earbuds still in my ears. I have a feeling I fell asleep listening to Shawn Mendes, it was pretty soothing. At about 3am I woke up in a sweat. I felt so sick, like I was gonna throw up all my insides and just die. I frantically look around to find the help call button for a nurse to come and attend me.
I feel so disappointed now. Mum decided it would be safe for her to stay at the hotel next door without sleeping in my room with me at the hospital.
After that, I don't remember anything. I think I just passed out. When I woke up, I saw a figure at my bed. My eyes didn't focus, so I couldn't see who it was. I thought it was Mum. I apologised in such a miserable tone to my Mum. But it turns out it wasn't Mum. When my eyes focused again, I realised it was a boy from school. It was Andrew.
"Rosie." he said to me. He sounded so flustered, nervous and anxious all at once.
Andrew is a tall guy in my grade with dirty blonde hair and the most satisfying million dollar smile you'll ever see. He's pretty built; swimming classes at school shocked the hell out of me when I saw his body. He was wearing the most cuddliest looking Hurley hoodie and shorts.
"Andrew?" I said to him. I was so confused why he was there. We started talking, and he came because he felt so sorry for me. He gives me a bouquet of red roses and admits to me he has a crush on me and asked me out. A smile spread so wide on my face there was no way of me hiding it. I said yes and he came closer to me. I shifted over and he lay on top of the bed next to me. With caution, I put my head on his shoulder and smiled. This is just what I needed. No sarcasm intended, at all.
I fall asleep all the time these days. I blush like a bright red tomato when I realised I fell asleep on my new boyfriend. But, he fell asleep too. I awoke to Mum sticking her head around the corner to my room. She just smiles and walks away. I drift away again.
When I wake up again, Andrew's gone. But when I look at the lock screen of my phone, he's sent a text.
Andrew: So good to see you today. I want to see you more often. I told my parents that we're going out and they approve. Talk to your Mum? xx
Me: Good to see you too, I'll talk to her tonight xx
I didn't mention that she saw us asleep together on the hospital bed, but I'll still talk to Mum later.
I'm so excited I have a boyfriend! Especially Andrew!
