"I love you." I whispered over the phone. After a second his deep, morbid voice filled the silence.
"I love you too." Scott said.
It was weird. Scott could just say one thing and immediately I'd be wrapped up in his warmth. Almost feeling him next to me even when he wasn't.
"Goodnight." I whispered.
"Goodnight." he whispered back.
And then he was gone. There was a moment of silence before a long beep sounded through my phone.
Off.
I set my phone on my bed side table. Using my toe; I switched off my reading light and lay my head on my pillow softly. To the sound of Scott's voice echoing in my head I fell asleep.

I woke up to a reoccurring vibration coming from my phone. A smile twitched at the end of my lips.
Scott. I thought dreamily, then grabbed my phone off my bedside table.
"Hey, Scott."
"Hey, babe! Am I giving you a ride to school today? Because I'm outside your house and you're not here."
SHIT.
"Oh uh... Yeah I'll be right out." I said, gliding to my closet.
I picked out a random outfit: high waisted jean shorts with a tight black tank top and a red flannel tied around my torso. I also had army boots and my hair curled.
"Hey." I said; jogging over to where Scott leaned on his car.
"Hey." he smiled.
We both climbed into his black Cadillac. Scott leaned over to hand me my coffee, then met with a kiss.
I giggled.
"Alright we're already late. Let's blow this Popsicle stand." Scott laughed and I joined him, nudging his arm.
Scott put on his serious face and threw his hands down on 10 and 2. Then he laughed and relaxed his position on the wheel.
When we pulled in to the Senior Lot, we were met by our crowd. My best friend, Lee ran up and hugged me.
The first day of senior year. I thought.
This will be the best year ever.
