Im so very tired
Im so very tired
The bra under my shirt claws into my skin
My back aches and cracks under the bag I carry
Im so very tired
A wave of nausea hits me as I walk up the stairs
Theres a constant stabbing pain around my eyes
As if I stared at the sun
For too long
Way too long
I am so very tired
My neck screams to be broken
My feet have thorns imbedded in my heels
It hurts to breathe
Ive never known exhaustion until now
Im so very tired
My sides feel as if theyre being torn apart
My calves sting from running too fast
My lungs burning into my chest
Leaving the smoke to scorch through my insides
Oh, I am so very tiredI rip off my bandages
Let down my weights
Unhook the horse shoes crunching between my knees
And fall towards the pavement
No longer in as much pain
Closing my eyes and wondering
When will I ever be normalPainless
Weightless
here I am
Falling to my feet
And wondering if I really look so bad
That everyone has asked me if I am still alive
They check my pulse and seem surprised
They shine a light into my eyes and my pupils dialate
And they gasp
And they ask
"How did you ever get up in the first place?"
And shortly after you ask too,
"Why werent you here for me sooner?"
