'Oh Verd, how are you?' Ecie asked throwing her arms around Verde. 'It's been too long.'
'I've been ill,' Verde sniffed. 'I was in hospital a couple days ago.'
'Are we bad friends for not seeing you all week?' Esme said.
'Not at all,' Verde laughed. 'Did I miss dinner with Jonathon?'
'And you missed "Chelsea",' Ecie said sitting down on a wooden stool. 'But Es gets along well with her.'
'Who is she?' Verde asked.
'Ross' new girlfriend,' Esme replied. 'Ecie thinks she's trying to spilt us up.'
'Weren't you like that with Ross' other girlfriend?' Verde laughed.
'He doesn't need a girlfriend,' Ecie said. 'He was two really cool sisters to look after.'
'So anyway,' Verde coughed. 'What have I missed at school?'
'Nothing,' Ecie replied playing with her hair. 'It's still boring.'
Verde nodded. 'How was the game?'
'It was good,' Esme nodded. 'We won.'
'That's cool,' Verde sighed. 'I am so tired.'
'How is Ed and that girlfriend of yours?' Ecie asked. 'I hope you found sense and dumped her stupid blonde hair.'
'You're really in a hating mood aren't you?' Verde joked.
'Well?' Ecie asked impatiently.
'We broke up, yes,' Verde replied. 'And Ed is fine. He should be upstairs if you want to talk to him.'
'What about your parents?' Esme asked. 'Where are they?'
'My mom is at work and dad just went out for some food,' Verde replied. 'They've been taking it in turns to look after me.'
'Do they know about Ed?' Esme asked. 'I know it's probably a stupid question.'
'Well you know how stupid parents are,' Verde laughed. 'I've had girlfriends in the past so they don't suspect anything. They just think that Ed and I are best friends. He's asleep in my room.'
'Why don't you just tell them?' Ecie asked. 'You never know, it may not be as bad as you think.'
Verde shook his head laughing. 'You guys are lucky that your parents are from the present time and understand the world and change,' he said. 'There's no chance I'm telling them.'
'Fair dos,' Esme shrugged.
'You say Ed's upstairs?' Ecie asked getting up. 'I'm just gonna see how he is.'
Ecie went up to Verde's bedroom.
'There is something wrong with that child,' Esme sighed. 'I'm not sure what we're going to do with her.'
'I know,' Verde laughed. 'Are you sure you won't be late for school?'
'I'm sure,' Esme nodded. 'How did you get so ill?'
'I don't know,' Verde replied. 'I think I must've eaten something or caught something off of someone.'
'Oh my dear, dear Verd,' Esme smiled. 'I've missed you this week.'
'I've missed you too,' Verde smiled. 'But I've had Ed here keeping me company.'
'Are you gonna get back together?' Esme asked. 'I think it would be so cool if you did, because we all miss you two being a couple.'
'We'll have to see,' Verde replied. 'After all it does take two to tango. What about you and Dan? Is that going okay? I haven't been updated all week.'
'I think we're good,' Esme nodded. 'I'm quite surprised at how well he gets along with dad, and I'm happy we can have a good time and enjoy each other's company.'
'Do you still think he's only interested because of your dad?' Verde asked.
'No,' replied Esme. 'Actually, I'm not sure. I still have my doubts, but that's probably because I've been listening to Ecie talking for days about her and Denis and Grayson.'
'A threesome. Sounds kinky,' Verde laughed. 'How is she getting on with Grayson?'
'They are so cute,' Esme replied. 'But I think she still has feelings for Denis. You know, I'm still not one hundred percent sure why they broke up. All she'll say is that something happened. She hasn't said anything to you, has she?'
'No,' Verde replied shaking his head. 'Anyway, it's getting kinda late. Is there anything happening tonight?'
'I'm going to a gig with Ross' new girlfriend,' Esme replied. 'You should come. It'll be fun.'
'That's okay,' Verde smiled. 'I'll catch you later and I'll call you.'
'Sure,' Esme smiled hugging Verde. 'It was really good seeing you're still alive.'
Verde laughed. 'You too.'
'Ecie!' Esme called. 'Come on twin, we've got school to get to.'
