I hate my friends right now. Do you know why? Of course you don't because I'm telling you now. Duh!
We were just hanging out at Mark's place when someone said we should play truth or dare. I was all for it until someone asked me a truth.
It was such an embarrassing question, so be prepared to not know what it was. The girl who asked me this question-we-will-not-speak-of offered me to be able to switch to a dare. I chose to do the dare instead.
Do you know what the dare was? Of course you don't. Why do I keep asking you these questions? I don't know, probably from delusion. Ugh, anyways there is a very, very, creepy abandoned orphanage in town.
We have all heard the rumors. The police reports. According to those resources, this orphanage is not a normal abandoned orphanage. (Not that there is any normal abandoned orphanages.) No. This was a haunted orphanage. One where once someone goes in, they don't come out. Or at least, not alive.
Can you guess where I am? I am currently in front of this orphanage being dared to spend the whole night in there. As you can tell I have great friends.
"Come on, Brittany!" Mark yelled.
"Are you scared?" Connor asked while dancing like a chicken.
"Ugh! You guys are so immature!" I yelled at them.
I stared at the front door. I didn't necessarily have to go in, but I don't want to look like a coward. Why did I have to live in one of those small towns from the movies that have a haunted building? I don't know. All I know is that after tonight I'm getting out of this town for good.

I'm being very hesitant, and I know that the guys can tell. However, they don't say anything because of their own fear. I feel like I'm apart the Ghost Adventures crew right now, being abandoned in a haunted house (or in this case orphanage). My brain is trying to distract me from what I'm about to do. Before I know it I'm reaching for the rusty gold door knob.

I slowly open the creaky door, and look around. It was exactly what I was expecting. The smell of mold, everything falling apart, even the weird feeling I got the moment I stepped in. (I think I watch to many paranormal shows) What I didn't expect was when I looked behind me, no one was there. You would think that would be a good thing, but no. That meant that Mark and Connor ditched me. May I say again, I have wonderful friends.

Sweat starts to drip down my forehead even though its freezing right now. Nothing to be afraid about. No such thing as ghosts. Of course I didn't believe that. Why do you think I watch so many paranormal shows? They gather so much evidence that even skeptics start questioning it. While I'm thinking about how it would have been cool to have an E.V.P right now, I see something at the corner of my eye. No. No, no, no. It was just dust, or a bug. Nobody is here. Nothing is here. Oh god, I'm going to need a new pair of pants after this.

I wander around for what seems like forever. Luckily, during that duration of time nothing jumped out at me. Of course course a ghost wouldn't necessarily "jump out" at me. They would probably swiftly glide across the wood flooring.
Surprisingly, it's really hot in here. I expected it to be freezing since ghosts make the surrounding area feel like your in Antarctica.

Some of the rooms I explore are completely empty. While others are filled with various things. There's the bedrooms that either contain a twin sized bed or a bunk bed. There's also usually a tiny desk in the corner. The other rooms seemed to be classrooms for the children. A big chalkboard, and about 10 or more desks arranged around the rooms.

That's when I hear the sound.
