“Welcome to American soil, Miss Adamson. Enjoy your stay,” a guy with dimples and clear blue eyes smiled at me and gave me back my passport. I smiled politely back at him and breathe in American air! Los Angeles, California, here I come! Hollywood, here I come!
“Mom, Dad!” we saw my oldest brother, Julian, waiting for us with his fiancée. She looks pretty but her posture is totally American. Mom will surely teach her about British posture. Julian hugged all of us and introduced his fiancée to us.
“It’s nice to finally meet all of you. Julian has been talking about you since we met,” she greeted us. Her American accent is okay. She’s polite. Check! She’s pretty. Check! She’s tall. Check! She has a horrible American posture. Minus one check!
“What’s your name child?” Mom asked her while we were on the road to our house at Beverly Hills. Mom bought it when my brother started working here. She said it can be used for vacation purposes.
“I’m sorry. I haven’t introduced myself properly. I’m Cindy Thomas,” she smiled apologetically. She kept on glancing at me, maybe because I’m not talking to her. I turned my gaze away and just looked at the palm trees around us. It’s so pretty! I sound like an idiot right?
We arrived at our large house. I can’t believe it is this large! Cool! Maybe I can go driving around in my bike inside. Speaking of bikes, I don’t have one.
I was picking up my heavy suitcase at the back of the car when a hand grabbed it and helped me carry it. Who might…
“Zach?” I exclaimed when I saw a tall guy in front of me. Is this really Zach? He looks different. His appearance is very different indeed. He looks yummier. His delectable body before became a seducing body. His hair is oh so shiny. What parlor does he go? Crap. Why am I thinking these kinds of things? This is so not me. I blinked my eyes a few times to assess the hot person in front of me.
“Hey there, Julienne, it’s been a long time since I last saw you personally,” he smirked. His voice, his hair and his eyes without doubt belongs to Zach Saunders. I feel dizzy all of the sudden. Am I going to faint? No, I must not faint in front of this punk or this will be the last day of my miserable life!
“Are you okay? You look pale,” he cupped both his big hands on my face. He feels hot, or am I just cold? Wait my chest! My chest is pounding! Release me at once my prince or so help me I’ll snog you right now!
“Julienne, are you okay? Answer me? Are you feeling dizzy?” he asked again with worry flooding his beautiful eyes. Then, all of a sudden, it’s all black! Did I faint? Or am I dead already? Did I get shot by an unknown terrorist or was I poisoned? Wait, I haven’t eaten anything yet since Mom’s omelet so it’s impossible for me to be poisoned. Did that Cindy Thomas shoot me with a needle dipped in poison? Why am I even thinking these stuffs? I’m practically going crazy!
“How is she?” I heard a barely audible voice and a soft hand stroking my cheeks. Is it Zach? I can’t process who owns that voice. I definitely need a hearing aid.
“She’s okay. She just fainted because of jet lag I suppose,” the voices are slowly becoming clear in my ears. I felt a shift on the bed on my left and the soft hand that was stroking my cheeks was gone.
“I’m going to go downstairs. Will you watch her for me Zach?” Mom’s voice was recognized by my itsy-bitsy brain. So Zach was the one who entered eh? I heard a chair being dragged beside me. I slowly opened my droopy eyes and I saw a beautiful creature sitting beside me while his face is full of worry. Is he an angel? Wait, didn’t I say he was Zach?
