She sprawled out on the well worn couch and surveyed her palace. Life was pretty good when she turned on the charm, lots of snacks, lots of drinks and everyone loved making her every wish their command.

And she loved turning on the charm at every opportunity.

Warm and cozy, she settled in for a good night in front of the television. She'd had a hard night, defeating endless foes, constantly alert for hidden dangers, for the evil shadows that lurked at the edge of their very existence. She knew everyone's lives depended on her.

It felt good to be queen.

A swift hit with a shift chew toy had her scuttling out of her seat; her palace destroyed, her illusions shattered.

James settled down in his well worn chair and changed the channel, completely oblivious to Ein's cruel and hurtful stare, having been thrown out of her palace.

Every night it was the same routine, every night James performed Ein's abdication, and settled himself down, the rightful heir to her comfortable throne.

"Dogs." He muttered to himself as the show began.
